Honestly don't know who all this applies to. Mostly concerned with Bama and LSU since all our guys got drafted around the same time, but other teams feel free to chip in. What kind of a drop off are you expecting?

Mason won't be as good, but he inherits weapons any QB would be happy with. I don't think he puts up Murray's gaudy stats but I think if he settles in, he can do his job and get it to his playmakers. Not expecting a huge drop off in offensive production. This year will depend on the defense and if he gets settled in time to have 2 big games early.

I'm not really expecting a drop off for Kentucky...I think either Towles or Barker are going to take charge and do better than Whitlow or Smith did last year.

Growing pains. LSU replaces two starting WRs, too, so it isn't like the new QB will have vets to rely on at that position.

Harris will win the LSU job eventually. But he probably won't start Game 1.

I think one of the two highly touted freshmen WRs WILL start Game 1, but it won't be the one most LSU fans think it will be (hint, hint).

I'm trying to imagine what a dropoff from '13 QB play would look like for Kentucky but it's hard to picture because I keep vomiting uncontrollably.

When I watched Mason last year, he looked very "uncomfortable" back there. He could make the quick throws but when he got rushed even just a little, he looked like he just lost it.

I think it will take him a while to get composure back there. He did not look ready to me.

But he throws a accurate ball.

I think Mauk will be fine at MIZZOU. getting those 4 games last year was valuable experience gained. He needs to improve on his accuracy a bit and protect the football. and MU will need a whole new crop of receivers to step up as a unit as well. lots of teams in the league breaking in new QB's this year. could be interesting.

I'd be really surprised if Barker took over this season. Both Towles and Phillips have looked good and I'm pretty sure the staff would rather redshirt Barker if they can.

Both can hand the ball to a RB very well. Both run well. Both have shown moments of passing well & both have shown moments of passing poorly.

Hopefully, there will be short passes with long runs after the catch and enough long throws to keep the defense somewhat honest.

Basically---I have no idea what to expect out of the QB play. Just hoping for the best. Talent wise I think we are fine---but experience wise there is a great lacking.

Who'll be S. Carolina's QB? Haven't heard much of anything out of them.

Heisman trophy, SEC title, first ever college football playoff champion.

I think he will do better his JR year though

You're right. Hopefully the circumstances last year were a blessing in disguise. Maybe got the first start nerves out of his system and will perform better with an offseason of practicing with the number one team.

Kind of sucks we play two ranked teams the first 2 games and one is probably our toughest game all year. I think he'll be good later in the year I just don't know what to expect on the road at USCe

I expect a few sorry passes early to settle his nerves then a couple of home run balls that connect. Maybe starting a qb controversy.

Call it being a homer or delusional or whatever, but I think Brandon will have the best season of any freshmen for LSU this year. I think he plays lights out all year.

He carries himself like a leader and his confidence is out of this world, both very important for a QB.
