It's an integral and profitable part of being a member of the venerable Southeastern Conference and one we all pride ourselves in ... who sells the most wearables, etc.

I guess we know who's coming-in last this year ...

quote:

St. Louis Supermarket Slashes Mizzou Gear and Apparel, Merchandise Prices

It would appear Dierbergs grocers have weighed in on the Mizzou issue. No doubt, this is at an irrational point in the college football season to liquidate team gear (midseason). Tiger fans eat, live, and breathe Mizzou. The good news is fans can now pick up their gear at 50% off regular price ... at the Fenton Crossing location.

And no, the irony is not lost on the fact that this all began with a hunger strike. Good move Dierbergs!

Local radio personality Jimi Pirtle called the store:

A young man paused when I asked "My friend told me you have Mizzou merchandise half off" Oddly he said "Sir let me send you to my store manager" as he was transferring me I heard him tell someone "... they were just asking about... " She (manager) answered and I asked the same question and her voice was not one wanting to sell me anything. I said so it's all gone, was it all on clearance or something? She said" Sir all I can tell you is it's all gone." This may be a nothing but bad timing on their part, I got the feeling I wasn't the first one to call.

Is it a result of the hoopla? Mizzoui merch was the only discounted collegiate merchandise. Did Dierbergs reduce the price of Mizzou merch at their other locations, too? Why?

We've reached out to Dierbergs for comment and will update. LINK

Not sure what kind of response you're searching for.

It is what it is.

Pray this doesn't happen at South Carolina. Before you confidently say it won't, don't forget the battle flag ordeal SC had to deal with. Careful...karma has a way of equalizing things...

So do you buy all of your Carolina merchandise at Bi-Lo or Publix?

Uhhhh..since we DID have the "flag ordeal" and it DID NOT result in any incidents related to our University, I would say it's pretty damn safe to say with confidence...

It won't happen bc it didn't.

The Confederate Flag flew for fifty years in the real Columbia ... and we never had a melt-down shite storm on campus, especially among our football team, that y'all had over some fat boy from a wealthy family faking a hunger strike ala Nelson Mandela.

Karma kickbacks are a beautiful thing - I believe in them. We're not worried at SCAR, we handled things here, in time, with class ... unlike Mizzou, or apparently the whole state of Missouri.

You have yet to fire your coach ... although that's probably coming, but until you do the dark cloud will continue to linger over your program.

You have yet to fire the two professors who assaulted the student journalists.

Your students ran-off one of the most beloved professors on campus ... because he refused to cancel an exam.

The entire boycott was contrived, a complete and total hoax perpetrated for the benefit of the activists and the media.

Mizzou should be a proud member of the SEC ... yet, over and over again the only thing y'all have prided yourselves in, since the beginning, is being, well ... yankees. And I feel for your good fans and you. But it is going to have to be y'all making the calls, writing letters, sending emails, tweeting, posting on facebook, etc., etc., etc., ... turn this thing around. Show some serious disgust. You have, 808 has ... anyways.

I guess I am getting too old ... this kinda bullshite just disgusts the helloutta me. One of the last few sacred things in this country is SEC football ... and look at what an activist shite show Mizzou is putting-on barely a few years after entering the conference.

Truthfully ... I've not bought a stitch of Carolina gear in years. It's always given to me here and there.

That's not the point ... unless you are saying all Mizzou fans are such snobby fricktards that they only buy their gear from officially licensed on campus bookstores?

I seriously doubt that to be the case.

Mizzou fans, like everyone else in this league, comes in all shapes and sizes and financial wherewithal. Those merchandisers you are condescending ... they put plenty of money in Mizzou's pockets with their sales.

But leave it to a missourite to try to deflect the point away to something as menial as the storefront.

No wonder y'all are where you are right now.

Deep inside (though you won't admit it) you know that Mizzou was helpless in this whole thing. The media latched onto the story and blew it up into a literal shite storm (pun intended). Liberal black kids forced a liberal white administrator to resign all while making it loud and clear that liberal black people believe all whites, conservative and liberal whites, to be the enemy.

Honestly, I'm sort of happy it's happening because it's waking up some liberals and forcing them to question what the hell they believe in. Why support the party that bends over backward for people who hate you? Who are the real racists.

And now that more holes continue to appear in the story which indicates the entire protest was based on a gigantic hoax...I (a conservative) can sit back and watch the liberal media uncomfortably squirm because the narrative is blowing up in their faces.

Sure, it's very depressing that this is happening at the school I've always loved...but perhaps this needs to happen for things to ultimately get better. Perhaps this is a wake up call for people who've long supported the party of the stupid, the party of the entitled, the party of death, the party of black on white hatred.

Oh look he started another Mizzou thread. Every time I get back on here I see 3 or 4 new threads by this guy about Mizzou.

Picture of OP:

"I'm going to spend all day searching the internet on everything I can find relating to the mess at Mizzou and then post it on Trant so I can get attention and look cool going with the crowd. hehehe!" -OP

24-10.

This "last place team" still beat South Carolina. Last time I checked SC isn't exactly a great football team this year either. 24-10.

All valid points, Killz.

I believe Ferguson was the oxygen that ultimately gave this fire its flame. No, it's not Mizzou who is at fault other than the same person who instigated the hunger strike was also an activist in the "protests" that occurred in Ferguson.

I don't completely understand why the football team got involved. Maybe I'm missing something regarding the semantics of what instigated that occurrence.

I do find it interesting that the entire incident seems to be unraveling to reveal itself as a giant hoax (for the most part) that the media, and your University, fell for hook, line and sinker.

Many people at Mizzou revealed their true colors because of this incident. Some uglier than others. Some questionable at best regarding their motives for the stance they chose to take. Self preservation seemed the likeliest of reasons why those people chose the particular side that they did.

I can empathize with your feelings regarding these events happening at a school that you consider beloved, I would no doubt feel the same way were these events to have happened at The University of South Carolina. It would have hurt me to the core of my being. I love my school and am devoted and loyal to it...nothing will ever change that though events similar to yours would cause hurt akin to betrayal from a close friend.

I hope that the people who instigated these events are brought to light...a very, very bright light and that those who supported and encouraged these same people suffer consequences equivalent to the damage they have caused.

How do you think I feel whenever I say or post that I no longer support Mizzou? It kills me, but this is how I'm taking a stand and I'm fricking serious about it.

I refuse to support a school that chooses to support people who hate me for being a lighter shade than them. I refuse to support people who hate me for simply being born. I refuse to support a school for allowing children to dictate policy all based on a hoax. I refuse to support a football program that essentially gave itself the Death Penalty by supporting a rich spoiled liar activist with suspicious motives.

frick that. Not me. I'm not stupid.

Valid points!

Not being condescending at all.

My point being that when I go to the grocery store I am there to buy groceries. Have I bought Mizzou merchandise at Dierbergs, absolutely, but only on rare occasions.

I have also bought merchandise at Wal-Mart, which according to a SDS article from Sept 2015 Missouri ranked 17th in the country in collegiate apparel sales at Wal-Mart (10th in the SEC).

Whether I like it or not there are bandwagon fans for every school and sales will dip when teams have a bad season. It is what it is! But using a clearance sale at one grocery store is a bit of a stretch for the demise of Mizzou!

Dammit killz ... it was not my intention to bring out the best in you, your intelligent philosophical side where you make such valid points and appeal to my empathy for what you are enduring.

I do feel for you the good Mizzou fans - y'all are, unfortunately, the silent minority at you school caught in the middle of this. Up arrows for you and that zoudawg guy above ... sorry to be rubbing salt into your wounds.

But then comes this tigertalk16 fricktard above and I have new life breathed into me. My disgust and anger at what has been perpetrated on college football reignited.

But then I look up on the big screen and see To Kill a Mockingbird playing late night, Turner Classic Movies and I think ... frick it. South Park comes on in two minutes and maybe they'll do a skit about Mizzou with Mr Hankey drawing a poopstika on the wall and Cartman going on a hunger strike and the rest of the crew threatening a boycott.

I'm sure it's coming sooner or later. Probably this season if we are lucky.

So at this late hour I bid you adieu kills, and remind you that tomorrow is another day. The sun will rise, the birds will sing ... on every campus in the league except Mizzou in all probability - and that's okay - it'll eventually blow over ... around 2025 when we are landing people on the moon maybe.

Every large family as a black sheep. There is no doubt who it will be for the SEC from this point forward.

Dammit kills, why did you let'em do it!
