Ball 5 doesn't count as that how many aggies can fit in their mouths

? Your baseball team acts like a softball team.

My thoughts are you're a pussy and everything you typed in the OP should personally embarrass you.

You dont get it gump. They chant ball 9 before the 9th ball is thrown, hence Ball 9 = 2 walks on 8 straight pitches.

Ball 8 would be two walks not 9
"Ball 5" is goading the pitcher, telling him he's about to throw his 5th consecutive ball.

I think that ball 5 thing they do is pretty cool. They had an old lady in the first row doing it saturday night against cal that was cracking me up. That's the benefit of playing at home, it's supposed to intimidate and annoy opponents. As LSU fans we've made a living doing it.

I must say I did think it a bit cringe-worthy.
That said, there is no doubt that it has an effect. The pitcher must have felt like he was standing there naked on the mound.
Hey, trying to get to a super. You do what you gotta do. Get the W any way you can get it. It's what I love about this time of year. Every single pitch is huge. A&M had home field and they used it to their advantage.
On the the Supers.

I agree. Completely disrespectful. Should have been telling him "It's ok sweetie. You'll do better next time."

At one point late in the game, the Cal-Catalina Wine Mixer hurler couldn't find the zone. The entirety of Listeria Recall Park was yelling Ball 5, Ball 6, Ball 7 with each passing ball out of the zone. Now, before I voice my opinion I'll admit that every team has horrible aspects of its fan base that embarrass it and are not representative of the entirety of said fanbase. I'll also admit that LSU has that same aspect and that even still, we are well known in the left field bleachers to give the bullpen for our opponents a ton of good-natured sh!t. Sort've seemed a tad bit disrespectful to me by and large. Intimidating? Of course there's an element of that. You'd be crazy not to admit that's impressive on a certain level. Was it due to the charged atmosphere between the two teams playing in some heated, nip and tuck extra inning contests with several incidents during the weekend? I dunno. Feel free to clue me in TAMU types. I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this is tradition in Collie College Station. If so then I'll politely retract my entire line of thinking here. But did anyone else see the entire stadium razzing the pitcher on the mound last night?

What were your thoughts?
My thoughts are, what in the frick are you trying to say? Fans should sit quietly in the stands? It's disrespectful to try to distract the other team?
wtaf?

Like I said...Wasn't sure. Hadn't actually seen/heard it before. I retract the statement about the bush-leaguishness of it.
As I said, I know we all have bad fans and I also know that LSU Fans are known to give teams sh!t as well.
Having said that: No, I don't work/write/string or whatever for Bleacher Report. We now return you to our regularly scheduled homering.

Has to be old. No self respecting 12 year old goes to a baseball game without razzing the pitcher.
