It has really changed over the years and become for the rich. To have a good spot, you pay the Tailgate buys who set up your tent, etc. These are done on a yearly basis.
You can find spots near some of the parking areas (get ready to walk or pay again).

I've been a few times. It's a really nice campus, rolling hills and shite. Good SEC venue

if not setting up a tailgate, hang around outside the stadium, old amphitheater, or toomers.
RV tailgate fields are a hike away
No booze laws on game day unless its really late after game has finished
