Did he get it smashed between too many helmets back in his playing days?

Going with Tantal's explanation. Apparently you can keep a pimp hand strong, but ya can't keep it injury free,

Can't discuss the Knuckle unless you also mention the Swirl! Although these begin similar, they end up being two completely different moves.
