According to Darren Rovell on Twitter

quote:

$11.25 million: Kevin Sumlin's current buyout. Texas A&M's deal must pay him entire contract owed within 60 days if it lets him go.

Eh, not that bad. Was over 20 million when he ran off those two five star QBs.

The thing is he needs an extension if we don't fire him so the buyout isn't a deal breaker.

If all the Aggy get together, cheer real loud, hate the T-sips real hard, and think good ol good Aggy tradition thoughts that $11 million will materialize.

May be to early for me to get what this means.

If the aggies wait for the contract to end it will hurt 'crutin for the next guy. Catch 22 no doubt.

When is his contract up anyway?

Exactly my point. We would have to give Sumlin an extension after this year for recruiting anyway. That will be too unpopular with the fans (even if the reasons are purely recruiting) so the AD won't have a choice but to fire him instead.

Frankly $11 million isn't a lot to us. When it was over $20 million we considered firing him for running of the two five star QBs. Only reason we didn't was Chavis (which also didn't work out but what can you do).

Sumlin and Chavis would've bought their on plane tickets back to CS if I was AD. Give them 30 minutes this morning to clean out their offices and police escort out of town.

Ok. I get it now. Yeah crazy. The money isnt the issue as much of the principal of it. Just can't fathom having to set someone up for life for not doing their job well. It's dick kick with catching the taint in the follow thru for sure.

Now it's having faith the current AD will go out, and hire the right coach. I think some lsu fans laugh, but know that the aggies could leap frog them if they hire right. Just no reason to believe aggies will.

Jacobs probably has Sumlin on "the short list" IF Malzahn goes 5-7

Gotta love this on a Monday morning! Put your hand on your partner's shoulder and the other on your hip, lean forward, and pose

... and now for the dancing (fill in the blank)

I said this same thing last night, and meant it. That debacle didn't happen all at once....it transpired over more than a quarter of play. To not be able to manager the game and adjust over that much time is inexcusable.

I actually have faith in our president and AD. They didn't hire Sumlin or give him that big extension. They DID however get Peterson to leave Boise and go to Washington after better programs tried and failed.

I frankly really want us to get to the coach hiring phase because I think they will surprise us.
