The statement by Stokan regarding the bidding process, might lead you to believe if they get in the rotation a name change might occur.

PEACH BOWL CORP.

' The statement, issued in the name of Peach Bowl Inc., the corporate entity that has managed Atlanta’s bowl since 1968, noted the game’s roots as the Peach Bowl and its history of philanthropy.

“Our corporate mission is to positively impact people’s lives by celebrating college athletics, through best-in-class events and activities that create charitable donations, scholarships, economic impact and memorable experiences,” the statement said. “… We appreciate the contribution that Chick-fil-A is making, and will continue to make, to our events, as well as their long-standing commitment to helping the student-athletes who benefit from them.

“Our desire is to continue in our industry-leading efforts to support charity and scholarship in our home community and those of our partner conferences and teams.” '
okie state and Texas Tech aren't exactly the best fans. Don't feel bad at least they probably sold their allotment. aTm couldn't even do that against us and it ended up being kinda lame everywhere except the arkansas side.
Arkansas only sold out their allotment one of the three years and if you combine the ticket sales for all three games A&M sold 5,500 more tickets. We also sold out our allotment for the CB against LSU and then some.

So yeah, you're kind of dumb.

quote:

In years when it is the semifinals, this game is off. In years when it is not, the SEC and Big 12 will pick the top team not involved in the playoff to play. It's not ever going to be an elite game because of it, but it will generate $80m in tv revenue plus what New Orleans bid to host it.

No, it won't be off when New Orleans hosts a play-off semi-final or Chmpionshi game. It will continue to be the Sugar Bowl played just as it is now one week prior to the BCS Championship game.

Look at it this way: The Sugar Bowl game will take the highest rated SEC team that does not make the 4 team play-off and match them up with the highest rated Big 12 Team that doesn't make the 4 team playoff.

The Sugar Bowl did this so that they could get two teams from major conferences that are close in geographic area. They are tired of getting teams like Hawaii, Boise State, Cincinatti, or any Big East team that qualifies as a BCS at-large team.

Now, the Sugar Bowl will always get a highly ranked SEC team to play a highly ranked Big 12 team. This aligns them with two major conferences just like the Rose Bowl is with the Big Ten and PAC 12.

I think in the years that it is a semifinal it will have take either the 1/4 or 2/3 matchup. Don't know who gets what but if somehow the sec or big12 chp isn't in the top 4 or even if one is 1/4 and the other is 2/3. They couldn't meet. The fe might be the sugar bowl. But not a champions game. Same with rose bowl

When/if the Big XII gets a championship game again do y'all think they will rotate it (which they did previously) or sit it in one spot?

IMO it would make a lot of sense to just put it in Dallas. So the conference championship games would be in Atlanta and Dallas with the Sugar Bowl hosting the matchup between the best teams in the conferences that aren't in the playoff.
