Pretty unusual for students accepted to all of them to go outside the ivy league but all SEC schools are littered with students on great financial packages that turned down at least one Ivy league school.

I tend to agree. Obviously, leaving college with no debt or loans compared to having a shite ton of debt is a great thing. But, he could go his whole entire life pointing to that degree that says Harvard on it instead of Alabama. That alone could likely open so many more doors for him down the road.
But, if that's what he wants to do then good for him I guess.

Yeah what dumbass for not wanting to accumulate a mountain of debt, and choosing to go to a school that will pay for 4 full years of school while getting a great SEC school experience.

Dude got a cut in pay before ever starting his career.

Not having student loans is great, but as smart as this kid is, I'm sure whatever job he got after Ivy League would pay them off quickly.

I would think he plans to attend med school at an Ivy league school. That's the way the article was written it seemed.

You're going to have to spell it out for some of these people to understand why that matters.

Well if the kid is smart enough to be accepted into his pick of schools then odds are he's smart enough that he can be successful with a degree from most any school.
Besides it isn't like Alabama is the local community college after all.

he plans to attend med school somewhere ... not necessarily at an ivy league school ... he gets a free honors undergrad degree at a decent school with nice sec experience ... then he gets to attend med school and pile up debt, possibly ...
yep ... fricking idiot ...

Read the article. Bama is paying him a lot to come to bama. More than anyone else would.
Sorta like they do with their football players.
