95%.
He says he is having an issue recruiting to the athlete vs the scheme and coaching.
Anyone believe this shite and would your team avoid Texas HS talent based upon this man's excuse?
On with Norm, the Ticket, no link.

Strong is changing to a spread, with an OC who's never ran a spread. He better hope some of the recruits come ready to go.

Yea I'll avoid Jamal Adams because of this

I care, fricknut. I'm not that much of a lil bro

I didn't think it was that high but it's a ton. It's why any school in TX or who heavily relies on TX should be running a spread also.

Alabama got Greg McElroy out of Southlake Carroll and they were one of the first in Texas to completely integrate their scheme from middle school to varsity. So you can go from a fun and high flying offense to a boring one, even though Kiffin's offense is awesome, that more so applies to LSU and Arkansas these days.
Yes, I think it's an issue and kids are attracted to playing for Sumlin's Air Raid as it's what they are familiar with. I see kids explicitly say that very thing in recruiting interviews all the time.

Makes sense to me and I know I've heard others mention the same thing in the past.

The Lone Star State is SEC Country. There are a ton of kids playing SEC Football that were lucky enough to grow up here.

It is true. We have the opposite problem up here since it is almost impossible to find any feet athletes worth anything up here but you will always find the dairy feed kid that is 6'4'' 300 pounds.
In Texas you can find plenty.

95%??
Utter BS. BTW, one if the worst interviews of a HC I've heard in a while. There is no reason why TAMMI, LSU or ARKY can't steal their kids from that dolt.

This is a legit Texas HS talent question, people. Sao was not fapping to his longhorns.
To answer the question, I would not be surprised if ALL Texas HS used some form of HUNH spread offense. Texas HS coaches collaborate on scheme all the time. Back when I played (1992 grad), the NU Tom Osbore offense was the rage. EVERYBODY used it. We got really good at stoping the option. It is probably a similar trend with Todd Dodge and Art Briles types all over the state.

He has not mastered the PR game which is going to hurt him with their boosters if they don't improve this year.

But Bay and TCU have to recruit to speed and out of position. QB's at TCU turn to RB, WR or DB. They have no other choice. Texas? Strong is in over his head. I hope we all rape him over the short term. When he is fired it's a literal free for all for Texas talent

The best comparison for Charlie strong is when Billy Gillespie went to UK.
He's a good coach, but there's just a lot more to it.
He's in way over his head.

It's almost getting to be a free for all already. OU just is not a factor anymore either. Back in the early 2000s it seemed like every elite TX recruit was headed to OU or UT and the rest picked up the scraps.
