I agree that the play calling was pretty bad during the second half. Regardless it’s not a good look to have your QB call out a coach.

What percentage of college QBs have the ability/freedom to audible?

Maybe the coach doesn't think he's smart enough to change plays

So, why are they looking to the sidelines?

Something sounds fishy

The team is pissed and rightfully so. Our coaches have lost them games directly via awful decisions for two straight years.

We've lost games we have no business losing every season since 2014.

What a disaster.

except complete passes. 9/26 isn't all on coaching and/or play calling

I'd guess they have the freedom to audible but are limited in how many plays they can audible to.

cool?

The attitude bestowed upon the team was to milk a 23-14 lead going into halftime. There was no fire, and it showed with some of the most conservative and predictable offensive play calling I have ever seen. You have a QB that can throw dimes and you only let him throw on obvious passing downs? It is such a joke.

If the OC sees something based on the way a defense lines up he changes the play for them. Its less coaching the players on what to look for and basically relying on the coach to help.

Such as changing which side you run to, switching to a hot route, etc.

Meh I think you're reading too much into what he said. All he said is he's running the plays Lindsay tells him to. Lindsay may not want him to audible. It seems the trend nowadays is to treat the QB like an imbecile and have the team do the meerkat to the sidelines. Almost every team does this now

That td shouldn't have mattered because Auburn should have hung 50 on LSU by that point in the game.

He’s not getting paid enough to coach.

That's the safest answer. He's telling them to direct their questions about the topic to the coach, as it should be. Saying anything else is risky. He probably wants to throw Lindsey under the bus, but his answer was formulaic.

That isn't throwing a coach under a bus.

Snowflakes all around us.

Stidham and Johnson basically said the same thing.....no comment on play calling, talk to a coach. Players just doing what they are told to do. KJ said he doesn’t get paid enough to offer a response about play calling.

Yeah, if Stidham could throw dimes then he would have at least a $1.50 worth last night.
