Usual suspects.
Texas led with 32, then Florida(27) then California(26)(8 7th round picks)
Florida led with 7 1st round picks, then Texas with 4.
Georgia had 15 this year.
quote:

Indiana. The Hoosier State had six players drafted, just as many as Alabama, Maryland and Arizona and more than Louisiana, Mississippi, Utah and others.

quote:

The state of Illinois had 10 prospect selected over the weekend (sixth among all states). Louisiana only had five.

quote:

LSU had five players selected over the weekend and only two of those five were from the state of Louisiana.

Mentions three SEC states, but only one university of the five from said states.

Aggy totally isn't obsessed with LSU.

When you return 18 starters and 38 of 44 on the two-deep it doesn't leave a lot of opportunities for draftable folks. Essentially the Tigers lost 6 people off of the two-deep and 4 were drafted. The other 2 have signed free-agent deals. Lame comment is lame.

You do realize that Texas (27+ million), Florida (20+ million) & Georgia (10+ million) have way bigger populations than Alabama (4+ million) & Louisiana (4+ million).

Indiana (6+ million) and Illinois (12+ million) also have more people than Alabama and Louisiana.

Last years final composite rankings

Louisiana
- population 4.67 million
- high schools with FB programs: 305
- 17 players > 90 composite, 21 4/+ star players

Alabama
- population 4.85 million
- high schools with FB programs: 444
- 7 players > 90 composite, 8 4/+ star players

How do you explain AL having more players in the NFL and more NFL players per capita? AL also has more players sign with power 5 schools than LA. Maybe you put way too much stock into recruiting rankings.

LA talent is good, but nothing special compared to the other southern states with similar demographics. Post Katrina AL>LA as far as quality and depth of talent.

You should provide some numbers instead of just just saying it

I don't know why you think it's overblown. The raw numbers are all people talk about. Per capita Louisiana puts a lot of guys in the league.

If by years you mean 6 months then you seem to be correct.

2012, 2013, 2014 and into 2015 Louisiana led Alabama and the country. Didn't look further back than that. We'll see about 2016 and beyond.

2012

2013

2014

June 2015

There will be another surge in Louisiana players the next few years.
High school talent is recovering from Katrina. recruiting rankings have been trending up slowly since 07, peaking last season

On a side note:
Players by area
^ year and a half old

Even if Alabama has been slightly higher that doesn't mean LA doesn't also produce players at a high rate. LA I'd imagine is still in the top 3 or so in the country. People talk about it more because LSU is the only P5 school in the state.
