Has there been many times when a state has had 2+ BCS schools good at the same time. Right now Alabama has 2 schools in the top 10. I know it doesn't happen often because even in this state usually Auburn is good or Bama is good but not at the same time? I know the mid 90s saw UF and FSU good at the same time. Any other instances?

I remember Mississippi had 3 in the top 25 a few years ago. That's incredible for a small state like MS.

In the 2000 season, Florida State played against Oklahoma for the national championship, and Miami and UF played against each other in the Sugar Bowl.
And in the mid-90s, FSU and UF were playing each other as #1 against #2.

I think it was Bobby Bowden who said, "It's easier to win the national championship than the state championship."

It happened last year, when Auburn was "good" before Arkansas beat the hell out of them.

There was a time when Purdue and Notre Dame fielded strong teams with some regularity.

Yes, happens all the time, and there are lots of states with two or more BCS schools
California
Oregon
Washington
Arizona
Kansas
Oklahoma
Texas
Iowa
Illinois
Mississippi
Michigan
Indiana
Ohio
Kentucky
Tennessee
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
Pennsylvania
Virginia
North Carolina
South Carolina
Edit, Removed New York and Maryland... Army and Navy aren't BCS schools
Most of those states have seen there two BCS schools be good at the same time, but not all.

I heard Arkansas and Kansas State had some pretty good year in the late '90s and early part of the '00s.

I understand multiple states have 2+ BCS schools...my question was have any of them ever fielded both teams (or more) while ranked in the top 10ish...

In 2000, Miami, Florida State, and Florida finished in the top 10 of one of the polls, while Florida finished 11th in the other poll. The three teams lost a combined 6 games, 3 of which came at the hands of one of the other Florida schools. I'm not sure how FSU managed to get into the title game over Miami that year, although Washington had the case to get in over both of them.
