State fans.... what gives?

I have been around this board for a long time. I can honestly say that I have never seen a fan base so complex. Here's a few questions..
Why do you fight so much among yourselves? I have never seen a base so conflicted with winning in my entire life. With Stansbury, you were divided. The loudest my irrational fans won. It set your program back a long time. You forced an AD to do something he was not prepared to do.
Now with Mullen, you want him gone? Not sure what your issue is. Is it that he's winning? Is it that he has done alot with very little? Is it that he makes some changes each year to improve the team?
Last... all of that plays out in front of us every day. You eat your own here. You have got to be the single most bipolar fan base ever.

I blame their lack of grinding this season. They usually unite against one opponent in particular every year and this year it didn't happen, so they all turned on each other.

Well we have Ben Howland now so it worked out ok

You could have had a better hire with the firing of Stans had it been planned out. That's the point. You AD was not prepared for the firing. He was forced into it. Thgat set you back.

I could be mistaken.... Maybe you all are on the Mullen ride here. There is a site though that is for sure anti Mullen..... with all kinds of "inside" information. Even from players!

I agree with Drew. What I'm reading on other sites now is some funny stuff. Run a search for Mullen and maryland/uga and you come across some great threads on other sites.

Personally I support and appreciate everything Dan has done. But the most vocal fans are mad A. Because we have lost back to back egg bowls to Ole Miss B. Dan has failed to win big games late in the year C. His lack of recruiting at a high level (we won 10 games last year yet we are 13 in the SEC in recruiting rankings for this year)

Can't argue with you there. However the same can be said for Ole Miss fans when they are losing.

There is a difference between wanting Mullen gone and what was posted above.
If Mullen wanted to leave for fricking Maryland, I would help him pack as well. It's Maryland.... they suck arse. Would be a pretty big step down for Mullen.

Makes no sense to leave an SEC job he took to #1 in the nation for a Maryland job where they just finished 2-10
