Still very early but it looks like some qbs have established themselves above the others. Agree/Disagree?

Alabama: Cooper Bateman

Arkansas: Austin Allen

Auburn: John Franklin III

Florida: Luke Del Rio

Georgia: Greyson Lambert

Kentucky: Drew Barker

LSU: Brandon Harris

Mississippi State: Nick Fitzgerald

Missouri: Drew Lock

Ole Miss: Chad Kelly

South Carolina: Brandon McIlwain

Tennessee: Joshua Dobbs

Texas A&M: Trevor Knight

Vanderbilt: Kyle Shurmur

Obviously some of these are locks barring injury but I'm interested to see what some of the fans have to say about their own QB battles and who they think will emerge the starter.

White and Johnson have to be competing for the job.

Most people think Johnson has the edge but I don't really see it. Not that I know any more than they do

Agree with Knight, he's the pretty clear leader.

His tumble has been something to behold, that's for sure.

I heard that we're not even close to naming a starter yet. Word around Starkville is that Nick Tiano could be the front runner with Dan. He really likes him. Makes sense.

Supposedly Johnson looks the best right now but he's always looked good in practice. They are going to have to do a good job simulating a game before they name him starter.

Just looking at the list right now, it's pretty unimpressive, but some guys could always improve.

Lots of "meh" at QB and Oline in the conference, but there are some great running backs.

Should be another banner year for SEC defenses.

Freebeck also had a decent spring, but by all accounts, it's Shurmur's job heading into fall practice.

UK is technically in a QB competition, but it will probably be Barker.

I wouldn't give Knight the starting job right away.

Our only returning QB with game experience, so by default it will be him.

The Arkansas QB battle should be interesting to follow in the next few months. There doesn't seem to be that much separating a crop of 4 highly touted QBs with AA having the slight edge at the moment.

Its going to be like a 4 way gunfight in a closet to see which one winds up on top. I would not be surprised to see 1 or 2 kids transfer.

Whoever gets the nod is going to need to step up quickly if the Hogs are going to avoid another stumble out of the blocks like last season.

I bet Orth starts the first few games, but McIlwain takes over midseason.

Yup, he used up all his transfers.

eh Bielema's comments make it seem like Austin has it pretty much locked up. I honestly doubt there's much of a competition besides for #2
