"Waylp, looks like I'm gonna be playin golf in Austin"

Original post idea. Would read again.

Ah, the good ole rumors out of Austin. Can't wait to hear what the package is worth.

Spurrier is not an administration type of guy.
Posted on 10/14/15 at 9:08 am to bellewr
That job would kill him within a year.
Posted on 10/14/15 at 9:08 am to bellewr
Why would he quit a job with zero expectations and take a job in a pressure cooker at 70 years old?

I don't know that there's enough high quality golf in Central Texas to keep him happy. It's a long way from Augusta and Pinehurst.
But, seriously, he doesn't fit the profile at all. The last time they had an old coach in that job it was Royal and he only lasted a few years. They will hire some corporate administrator type, but with more personal skills than the last one.

So spurrier, who is 70 and looked completely beat down in his PC yesterday, who publically said he may eventually coach a HS somewhere or be some sort of advisor, is now going to be the AD at texas and manage a multi-million dollar entity and be in charge of hiring/maintining/firing the coach of every sport on campus, negotiating contracts, upkeeping facilities, and all the other headaches that come with running an operation that large?
Seems legit. Spurrier is going to go play golf until he can't pick up his arms anymore, then will see what he feels like doing next. He's not coming out of retirement (excuse me, resignment?) after 2 days.

Add in his trademark tooth-suck and that's about right.

Um.... you mean dork and dork.

Spurrier as AD, Saban as HC, urban at OC and Harbaugh at DC. Chip Kelly will coach WRs

Mike & mike are ignorant and you should be ashamed listening to that garbage.
Spurrier is NOT a AD type. Where the hell do these people pull this shite out of their arse from?
Yesterday it was all, he still wants to coach, when the man clearly said he'd never be a HC again.
The sports media is worthless in this country. Hear what they want to hear, a joke

While I don't see that happening in a million years; it would be pretty dang entertaining to see the OBC deal with the jackassery of their donors.
That'd be interesting, like the immovable object vs irresistible force; hilarity would most certainly ensue.
