For the CFB Playoff each team is judged at by looking at "the whole picture" as a team. I'ts been discussed before that major injuries from a star/impact player could keep a team from moving up or down.

What's your opinion say if LF7 didn't play this whole season. Would LSU be in the same bowl game that they are in? I'm sure they'll do fine with Guice, but are other teams with players wanting to play disadvantaged from a more desirable bowl game?

Discuss..

LSUs bowl must be an important game

Because Leonard Fournette isn't showing up

I'm sure other teams would like a better bowl.

I'm fine with it.

Just like Mcaffrey at Stanford. Fine with that too.

If these players that have nothing to gain in a middle tier bowl tear and ACL it will cost them 10 15 million dollars. They will get drafted but it will be lower than expected.

I agree but did he need to get an agent this soon? That is why people probably think it's more of a "quitter mentality"

Ok lets play.

Say LF does play in the bowl game and breaks his leg.

He is out 1 year to be fully healthy for 2018.

Meanwhile you have lost nothing in the deal and are still posting about other players quitting on the team.

He has lost a bunch of money over a game he should have never played in to begin with.

Now if the playoffs its a different story.

No one told him he had to leave a full scholarship a year early to take a risk on the draft that many people would play in a sport for less.

It may be easy for you to turn down 20 or 30 million dollars. Not for most of us though

That's a lot of money and honestly it's ridiculous that players make this.

How much of that is guaranteed? For all you know he could get hurt in his first professional game and not make squat. Of course this is where you come back and say that's why he needs to do this.

My point is he gave LSU 3 damn good years of play on the field.

If the kid wants to make 30 million 15 guaranteed then i'm all for it.

If he wants to skip the last bowl game for LSU that doesn't really mean anything to him then he needs to go get his money.

If you had the slightest chance to play in this bowl game, would you?

What happens when LSU gets beat and your fanbase blames him? If you guys get beat it's going to happen

The only post I down voted was twetnyfivetwenty post about Fournette sucking at football.

The rest I have no idea who is down voting.

You are right on the blaming part.

My point is if the kid wants to get his money get it.

3 years of blood sweat and tears he has earned that right to skip one lousy bowl game over the chance of getting hurt.

That's not just with LF. That's with any player.

Now if its a NC game or a playoff game then hell yea I would say he needs to play.

A player refuses to play in a bowl game, the school loses a scholarship the next recruiting cycle.

Interesting take. My whole point is that he didn't have to get an agent. That removes him as a amature. He could've waited like all the other guys. Him dressing and playing limited time or riding the bench would be more sense.
