I found it very interesting in the thread about Bert that many Arkansas fans basically admit that their program cannot recruit at the level of the historical SEC powers and that they are happy with Bert given that limitation.

Seeing as how recruiting talent defines team potential more than any other metric, what sort of ceiling do Arkansas fans believe their program has? Has this potential mental ceiling gone up for down the last six years?

Note: I am not asking for a recounting of the best Arkansas has done (aka the historical ceiling), I am asking about the future ceiling as a program going forward from this point.

Thank you in advance.

Consistent NY6 bowls, It would take an amazing coach and a lot of things going right to win a NC here imo

there is no ceiling. start doing better regularly and the recruits will come. fayetteville is one of the nicest college towns around, aside from in state talent there's no reason we can't get top guys.

It's hard to say. This is the first time we've really been putting a similar amount of money into the program as the best programs around the country. It took us a while even after joining the SEC to catch up. The sample size isn't big enough to give a good answer.

Get back to us in 10 years and you'll have an answer.

He's still shell-shocked from the arse beatings Arkansas has given LSU the past two years. Go easy on him.

The ceiling is the same place everybody else's is.
15-0.

I don't think everyone's ceiling is practically 15-0. Like that will never ever happen at a place like MSU or Kentucky.

Ceiling is usually defined as the best you can realistically expect your program can do in your lifetime.

A ceiling is a point that you cannot pass beyond.
Although it is very tough to for anybody to attain, it is not 'unattainable'.

Yeah but there is a different between technically and practically.

Technically MSU could go undefeated in football.

Practically any Power 5 program that doesn't consistently have top 20 talent (which MSU doesn't) won't go undefeated in football.

Give me $5million to run a recruiting hedge fund and we'll put Ole Miss and SMU to shame.

Different definitions of ceiling, and we'll leave it at that.

I look at this year's schedule, and I don't see ANYBODY that I think that it's impossible for us to beat. Alabama is the only one that I will even come close to conceding.

That said, do I think we have a great shot at beating all comers? No, not a great shot. But impossible? No, not impossible either.
