"its your thaaaang, do what you wanna do"..

but wouldn't it be more accurate to just leave off FCS teams entirely? So as not to compare apples to oranges?

Arkansas has managed to lose three games playing the weakest defenses of any team in the conference.

No. The extreme weakness needs to be factored in.

True, and our opponents have a combined record of 12-2.

This was my line of thought as well. They've been taken out.

I'm going to make a note of what the difference is.

But 1 FCS opponent might actually have a fairly good defense (for fcs) while another could be dead last in fcs. The best FCS defense might have a better defense than the worst FBS defense. an FCS's defense ranking in reality could be anywhere from 90 to 300.

It's just easier in the sake of looking at statistics, IMO, to leave them out altogether.

You know, people say this all the time as if apples and oranges don't have a lot in common when, in fact, they do.

Now comparing apples to, say, the unified field theory, or perhaps the Resurrection, that would be a stretch.

If you did that it wouldn't really tell the whole picture though. These games were played and your team put up stats against that competition. It needs to be accounted for. I think it's a decent assumption that the FCS defense would be towards the bottom of the FBS ranking.

I say the better picture is to include them and give them a 129 as the OP did.

It looks like you're confirming for everyone that LSU has played the easiest defenses of anyone in the SECw besides Arkansas.

Is that what you were trying to say?

I'm actually surprised ours are that high, I haven't checked but I thought ASUs defense had continued to play pretty well while their offense had sucked. And I figured State's defense ranked pretty high too.
