How could anyone care about this?

She flew the tater flag above our Statehouse and sent a tater helmet to Stephen Colbert, another South Carolinian who is all tater.
So you're complaining that someone who is a Clemson alum and currently has a kid at Clemson is "all tater"?
The horror!
Come on, CG, I know you hate Clemson, but come on now.

What year did they win the National Championship?

How could a team care about being the only ones in almost 35 years not invited to the White House?
You don't see how that could be insulting to them?

Trump is not a big sports Prez like Obama etc was.. Trump mostly don't even know NCAA has a women champion for bball
Wrong Trump started the USFL and payed Herschel Walker a ton of money to come play for him.

I'm complaining that a fellow South Carolinian isn't advocating for a team from her state when she would absolutely do it for the taters.

We are the reigning NCAA champions in WBB.

The Delaware women's field hockey team also didn't get an invite after their NC

This part I don't get at all. Can coaches/players not leave politics out? It's a visit to the White House to meet the President. Forget that it's Trump or Obama or Daffy Duck.

quote:Bull shite! It's the main point. If they actually wanted to go, they should have been invited, but if they were going to use the invitation as some political statement (you can bet your arse the question was "unofficially" posed), then hell no don't ask them.

Maybe, but that really isn't the point.
A lot of teams have shared similar sentiments.

I agree they should be invited but Staley did say something a day or two after they won about having to decide if they wanted to go or not.
I agree, these teams trying to make it political is ridiculous, you go no matter who the president is. Not one team said I'm not going because I don't like Obama or Bush or Clinton.
Society today needs to grow up. Trump getting elected showed how fed up everyone was since the Democrats and Republicans couldn't figure out how much they've pissed people off. If they could work together Trump would have never got elected.

Didn't Golden State start this bullshite?
Wasn't their championship well after the Final Four?

could be that the team wants to be invited so they can decline and get that attention
Now that is a fricking stretch.

Dawn Staley never said that they wouldn't go because they don't like Trump.

They weren't invited? Why?
It's probably related to North Carolina men's basketball turning down Trump's invitation and Trump withdrawing Golden State's White House invitation. By not inviting South Carolina's women basketball team to the White House, Trump make it appear like he's not a big basketball fan and didn't want any basketball teams visiting the White House instead of two teams snubbing him.
