In women's soccer: the 2nd-ranked Gamecocks defeated Tennessee 2-0 today in Knoxville TN to improve to 16-0-1 and 10-0 in conference, to win no less than a share of the SEC regular-season championship. They would have shared the title with Auburn, however Auburn lost their match today 2-1 to Texas A&M, which then leaves USC as the out-right SEC Champs!!

The women's team is one of only two programs in the nation with undefeated records at this stage of the season (the other being Bucknell). Tennessee fell to 10-7-1 (5-4-1). South Carolina closes out it's regular season Thursday hosting Ole Miss (9-9, 4-6)....

If we had lost and AU would've won. AU already had 1 SEC loss this year so our UT win would've gotten us the outright regardless of their outcome.

Either way:

In order for you to assume that, you have to also assume that we'd beat Ole Miss and finish with only 1 loss. What I said was, the win today versus UT AT WORST left us with the possibility of only losing 1 SEC game - versus Ole Miss - and AT BEST before Auburn lost to TAMU they would also finish with 1 loss. Meaning we'd be tied.

But with Auburn now losing to TAMU and having 2 conference losses (their other SEC loss was to us), even if we do lose to Ole Miss we win the title out-right.....
