South Carolina blew an 18 point lead?

Here are the 15 seeds that won, and a couple of 16 seeds that almost won. I watched the Hampton and Santa Clara games and the Princeton game.

Two #16 seed teams came very close. Four 15 seeds won.
Many 12, 13 and 14s have won.

#16 Murray State lost in OT to #1 seed Big Ten Champ Mich State led by Steve Smith.
#16 Princeton had the ball for the last shot but missed an open jumper as time expired and lost 50-49 to #1 Georgetown, which went on to win it all.

Both those teams (Murray and Princeton) had victories as double digit seeds in other seasons,
#14 Murray beating #3, defending champ NC state
Princeton beating UCLA.

#14 Murray was also the only team to play #6 Kansas close in its run to the championship, (in the 2nd round) the year Danny Mannin's Kansas won vs Oklahoma.
Like Princeton v G-town, Murray had the ball and took the shot for the win vs Kansas, but it was BLOCKED! by Danny Manning in the paint. Game ended at the free throw line.

1991 East regional

Richmond 73, Syracuse 69: The Spiders become the first No. 15 to pull off the upset, never trailing in their victory over the Orangemen.
1993 West regional

Santa Clara 64, Arizona 61: Despite being on the receiving end of a 25-0 run by Arizona at one point, the Broncos survive thanks to six late free throws from freshman Steve Nash.
1997 East regional

Coppin State 78, S. Carolina 65: The Eagles, a 30-point underdog, rallied from a seven-point deficit in the second half to stun the Gamecocks, a trendy Final Four pick.
2001 West regional

Hampton 58, Iowa State 57: The Pirates make their first NCAA appearance a memorable one, as Tarvis Williams hits the winning shot in the lane with 6.9 seconds left.
