Lol! What sunshine am I pumping? I picked us to lose this game earlier in the thread. What point did I make that you disagree with?

It's just that the "ZOMG! We are the worst team ever!!!" Stuff basing it off of 1 half of play is WAY premature.

I mean, I rewatched the game (always good to do because you aren't ruled by emotion the second time) and the huge plays they ripped off were all either blown assignments or missed tackles. You can rewatch as well or just take my word for it. You can argue that those things won't be fixed and you may be right, but they ARE fixable. In fact, they were corrected for the most part in the second half.

We may have the worst defense in the country come the end of the year, but to proclaim that as a fact after 1 half of football where we did the vast majority of the damage to ourselves is just silly.

USCe should be able to win because they actually play defense. Should be a fun game to watch .

Don't take sunshine pumper as an insult because it wasn't meant that way. Listen, I know you are alot younger than I am, and with that I remember how niave and optimistic I was, its a part of life. I agree with you about these things are fixable. I saw all the missed tackles, blown coverages, out of position etc... I guess my question is, what the hell have they been doing the last few months? That was the most disgusting preparation I've ever seen for a game. Or they didn't even bother to prepare, which is just as worse. I'm not being over reactive and calling for Odoms head right now, but needless to say he better fix this. I have my doubts he can do it. I hope he proves me wrong. Again what I find mind boggling is how can a coach whose strong suit is defense have his defense actually regress at the rate it has.

I can't believe Mizzou is still a 4.5 point favorite in this game after the way their defense preformed.

You got me. I really have no idea how you can come out in the first game and have so many assignment issues.

With as great of a DC as BO was, he's having a really hard time trying to wear both hats it appears. Was a big mistake not to go get an experienced DC in the offseason that could have taken the play calling off of his plate.

Reedus can overreact but he has a very valid point. This has been the D since game one of last year. It IS the D until it's not.

If your defense is twice as good as MO State, you will allow 36 points.

If Mizzou's defense us half as good as NCSU'S, you will score 70.

I remember us winning the east

Do you hear UF fans brag about winning the east last year? Do Bama fans ever brag about winning a division? Does UGA? Very rarely if ever, but you guys bring up "winning the east" all of the time. Bragging about going to Atlanta and getting your butt kicked in the SECCG is still bragging about getting your butt kicked. You haven't won anything worth bragging about until you win in Atlanta. Until then all you have won is the right to get your butt kicked in Atlanta.

Their defense isn't 1/25 as good as NCST's is.

Of course. My point was more that being in the correct spot, knowing coverage responsibility, what gap you are supposed to take these should be easily correctable. They shouldn't have even been an issue, but it was corrected in the second half.

Now, we do have a talent issue in our back 7, particularly the secondary. You can blame that for the tackling issues, but you can also point to being out of position as a possible culprit.

I'll take some solice in the fact that the staff made effective halftime adjustments and the D played pretty well after that.
