The teams are actually very comparable. Both have a lot of inexperience on defense, esp in the backfield. It's going to depend on which coaching staff does a better job of getting that cleaned up by this Saturday, and I don't have a lot of confidence in our defensive staff right now. It also will depend on turnovers like it always does. maybe SC 38 - MIZ 35.

I think South Carolinas offense should focus on Conga Lines and various forms of celebration.

We played like shite in the secondary (duh), but my point is it was blown coverages and missed tackles.
So the defense is shite is what you're saying. I seriously think the only team we can stop this year is UF.

it is stuff that can be fixed.
Yes. Can be fixed if we had different coaches and different players. Lets face it, we are what we are UNTIL we are something different. Everyone could say we'd be undefeated if we didn't lose.

quote:MO ST got killed by the WR quick screen. Mizzou had several touchdowns from it. One block on db and a cloud of dust. If South Carolina can tackle and cover that play you should feel good. I didn't see much of the S. Carolina game so I don't know what you've got in the secondary.
I felt like 75% of Locks passes were intermediate passes that got taken to the house. USC ain't going to let that happen
That's not to say Lock can't make other throws but as mentioned his deep ball gets inaccurate and he makes some bad decisions.

Mizzou's WR's did a great job blocking yesterday on those short routes, helping to spring the guys who caught the balls. I'd imagine the play calling will be similar, but with a bit more mixed in.
Mizzou's offense has now rang up at least 399 yards against seven straight foes, six of which were SEC teams, so I think Mizzou should be able to move the ball. They just need to convert those yards into points.
I still don't know what to think of the defense. I was shocked by how they played yesterday. Odom is a defensive guy who had done a fantastic job with all the defenses he'd previously coached. Ultimately, I suppose it's a lack of talent on Mizzou's defense.

I remember us winning the east that year and you all sulked out of your own stadium

I had this game as a potential win before the season, knowing the offense returned damn near everyone and would be better than last year and anticipating/hoping that the defense was at least slightly better than last year.
Week 1 showed the defense is drastically worse. That will be the difference in the game. SC's D won't completely shut us down, but it will be more effective at slowing us down than our open door defense.
SC 55
MU 37

They scored 72 against a high school team. I think South Carolina will be quite a different team for Missouri than Missouri High was.
