If the report that Miles in on his way to Oxford is true, then something is truly rotten at Ole Miss. Would any administration name someone as interim HC, let him have a presser where he vows his life long association and love for Ole Miss, then pull the chair out from him? Miles (or anyone else for that matter) wouldn't go up there uninvited.
Was the title of interim to mean a week or two? How would you publicly embarrass an alum like that?
Either the report is blatantly false or the Ole Miss administration are bigger slime balls than we imagined.
Curious times.

You're a fricking moron.

If they have the chance to hire a NC winning head coach with a ton of SEC experience and a squeaky clean image, they should.

Get over it. We fired him. Yes, in the long run we got the shite end of the stick by making an underwhelming hire but you can't fault Ole Miss for going after Les.

That or Les Miles is the luckiest person on the face of the planet. Dude was lucky AF when he coached here, and now he falls right into another SEC gig.

I want him to go there.

We know all three plays his offense would run.

I regret that your emotionally driven obsessive hatred for Les Miles has robbed of any reason you might have ever had.

You have not addressed the topic. It isn't a matter if whether they should or should not hire or whether they would or would not hire Les Miles. It is a matter of whether they would treat an alum and current employee so shamelessly.

The focus of the thread isn't Les Miles it is the Ole Miss administration. It is what sort of ethics an athletic administration that would hang out their current "interim coach" out to dry like that would have.

As you wrote, "get over it".

I'm a true believer in creating your own luck. As much as I couldn't stand Les as a coach his last two years at LSU, the man created a lot of what people call luck. Most "luck" is being in the right place at the right time if opportunity presents itself. Les is good at that. So he didn't win games on luck, and the luck you're ascribing now just might be great interviewing skills.

And considering there is plenty rotten at OM, and Luke has been part of that since Freeze arrived, OM might have just realized their "OM forever-alum-homeboy" is just as much a target of the NCAA as anyone. They may have been planning to make him the next savior, until they realized they need saving from him. He is not exempt by any means; in fact the opposite as true.

And here's Les... once again... right place at the right time.

Please sir employ someone who reads.

One last time: The focus of my thread is to discuss why the Ole Miss administration would bring in Les Miles or any other coach for an interview when they just put on a big dog and pony show for Luke? NO one said that that Les Miles had been hired. So put your pitchfork down for a second.

The point which obviously sailed completely over your head was the ethical mindset of an administration that would publicly embarrass their new coach.

So either they are a bunch of worthless slime balls or any report of their contacting Les Miles or anybody else for that matter is false.

Now was that so hard to figure out?

If Les goes to OM, they will cease to be a "trap" team

Aw what the hell... he's got 3 plays now? Dammit les. You really could've added the 3rd while you were still here

You need a lesson on the word "interim". They didn't put on a dog and pony show. They made the guy interim coach. He's making the calls until there's a full time head coach. I don't know why this is so difficult for you to grasp

I'm not one to defend Elleshoe but you said
quote:

clearly implying something other than
quote:

and more like what you protest here
quote:

NO one said that that Les Miles had been hired.

Your writing may have sailed that point over everyone's head like a Brandon Harris pass.

quote:

So either they are a bunch of worthless slime balls or any report of their contacting Les Miles

For interviewing potential coaching candidates after they named an interim? Isn't that what they are supposed to do?

quote:

Now was that so hard to figure out?

Based on what you first wrote, it was easy to misread your point to indicate you thought they were hiring him sooner, rather than later.

Wrong.

My sources have told me that Bill Belichek is flying in tomorrow to take the gig. Brady is coming along as QB coach.

Luke said he is planning to have an O-Line coach in place by the end of the week. Les going to be O-Line coach/associate AD and mentor to the young Luke.
