Something I LOVE about the SEC...

Sam Montgomery is a huge Manziel fan. He has more or less campaigned for Manziel to win the Heisman. He recently tweeted a Manziel highlight video.
The fact that an LSU player can do that without catching hell from LSU fans is AWESOME. If a sip player tried that, the sips overlords would call him into their office and the sip fanbase would hate him for it. There is something different and better about the SEC.
LSU and Sam Montgomery have my respect.

LSU fans get respect for not giving Sam hell for what he has been saying. LSU admin get respect for not muzzling Sam.

Why would we give Sam hell? JFF is a great player and if he keeps this kind of play up deserves the Heisman.

JFF is the best player in the country IMO. I don't see why he shouldn't win the Heisman. Most people I know here in Baton Rouge have openly said that about the kid.

This. Why would we give Sam hell about it? It's true. We might occasionally be over critical and negative but we pay respect where respect is due. We wouldn't chastise a player for speaking their mind unless it was something like the "we beat ourselves" or "restoring order" crap coming out of their mouth.

That's something new to us Ags. In our old conference, opponents usually did everything in their power to tear each other down (A&M fans included).
It's new and refreshing to give respect where it's due. Hopefully we'll return the favor when the time comes

The LSU fanbase is pretty good about giving respect to opposing players and teams when they earn it. See the LSU baseball team from last year when we gave Slippery Rock ( I think thats who it was) the standing ovation. JFF deserves and who am I to question Sam about the guy when Sam chased him around for an hour?
