and it actually spells trouble for the rest of the SEC. as much as it pains me to say it, his play calling has proved to me that he finally has accepted the importance of the run game. when he first arrived at a&m he inherited arguably the best OL in the conference and two very quality RB's and he wasted them. his style of offense cost him a number of games, mostly against the top competition. Sumlin also didn't pay enough attention to defense; he simply hired a DC and left it up to them.

I have been honest in the past when I have stated that Sumlin was not a good enough coach to win anything and it has taken him a few years to actually learn that running games and defense are needed to beat the top teams. I am being honest now when I say the aggies actually have a chance to be a top level team.

I also am being honest when I say I hope friggin' aggy loses every damn game they play.

he's still in awe seeing that high school kid score in that shoe commercial.

I always laugh when they freeze frame on him in the stands looking like he just saw a ghost.

Technically, yes.

In a more real sense, giving up 500 yards to Arkansas, the answer is no.

We didn't give up 500 yards to Arkansas. 457.

Has LSU EVER won a game in which they lost the TOP battle by 20 minutes or more?

Serious question. A&M does it all the time.

I get that but my point only is that I honestly think sumlin will start recruited the D more and try to keep them fresher by trying to control the clock with the run game. as opposed to pass happy flag football shite.

A&m has been impressive but Lsu still in sumlins nightmares. Power I teams trump spreads more often than not when teams are fairly even talent wise. A&m needs to get over that hump and Sumlin is a good coach but can't call him elite yet untill he gets at least gets to Atlanta.

really sarge? really? you have never impressed me as a person that knows jack about football. would you care to enlighten me on my misunderstanding? frankly, I hope that what I saw Saturday was an exception and he goes back to abandoning the run.

While I certainly hope you are right, its still too soon to know. Last year the Arky game felt like an off game for the Ags and they were set to roll into the meat of the schedule, instead it was the harbinger that A&M was just a decent team and certainly nothing special and the season proved that out.

This year does have some different feel to it with Allen as the established starter with a cool new toy in Kirk to go with a defense that actually seems to attack people (though it still has some question marks). A&M desperately needs James White to get healthy and it's really unfortunate that they had the triple header of Trey Williams leaving along with Jay Bradford and Kendall Bussey getting hurt right after they hit campus leaving us without a real "scat back" which is very valuable in the offense we run. I love Tra Carson but he is very much a bruiser, even though he does move really well for a big man. They are making due with putting Kyler Murray in for some plays and this week showed the jet sweep with Kirk but those aren't long term answers.

A&M has a high ceiling but still is not clicking on all cylinders. If they can keep improving anything is possible (the schedule is very friendly outside of the trips to Ole Miss and LSU) but if not then it could be an 8-4 type season.

I think Kevin Sumlin has every intention of running more.

That's THE reason why he hired Christensen.

However, he's down to only one, uno, 1, running back, aside from a white walk-on, so following-through on that intention this year is pretty tough.

The one guy we have is a "power back" who, instead of trucking fools, tries to dance. Basically, the worst of both worlds. This offense would benefit most from having a scat-back type-guy, like we had in Trey Williams in years past (only we'd need a version of Trey that would bother to pass-block).

Slow your roll. They have played shite teams so far and had to go to OT with one of them to pull out the W.

well, I may make disparaging comments about the aggies at times but I damn sure haven't made anything up. my statements this morning were actually a compliment and no where near a troll. I guess honesty is a rare commodity on this board. seriously, I don't play these internet games with you kids.

imo, y'all have the best team since you joined the SEC. not as good of an OL or RB's but overall the best. also, imo, if Sumlin would have used the strategy in y'alls first year as he did Saturday, y'all probably would have won the west and maybe the SEC. he inherited some hosses on offense and had JFF. NO TROLL.
