...after watching these highlights linked below, why LSU would be regarded as a high level team in 2016? Same coaching staff + same players at key positions and they are the team to beat? I'll hang up and listen.

Is this a bad thing?

More experienced version of a team that wasn't as bad as everyone acts like it was.

Not the same coaching staff, another year of experience, returning 18/22 starters....but I realize you're just trolling and not expecting a real discussion.

Returning 18 of 22 starters on a team that was good not great last year could easily make the jump up to a great team. Will they? Only time will tell but the pieces are there for it to happen.

Also, you're on an LSU website.

First veteran team in four years. Three completely new coaches. NFL experts say we have possibly 7 first round draft picks. But, I'm sure they don't know shite. Have you ever heard of a thing called Improvement? You've only seen it over the last four years been at OM....and you think LSU of all schools has no chance at getting better? We going in dry this year just like 2014 when you come to Death Valley. Maybe Swag will actually stay on the field the whole time instead of running off like a little bitch....unlike your last QB who played in Death Valley.

Not to mention loaded recruiting class after loaded recruiting class. Jeez, Ole Miss finishes second in the SEC West one time and acts as if it belongs.

It helps that we were not raped by the NFL draft this year. Finally have some depth on D Line. Recruited better than anyone not named Bama the last few years (combined). Our entire backfield, WR/TE and 3 starters on the OL back. 3 1/2 starters back with our DBs (Ricky Jefferson started a few games last year at safety) and Beckwith returned to anchor the middle of our D. Add in a huge upgrade in the DC and WR coach and I think that is your answer.

I am also a realist and want to see it on the field before I start calling us a playoff team. But these guys that are calling LSU the favorite in the West get paid to make "predications". It's April and they have nothing else to do. Don't get so worked up over it. A lot of them said we would be 6-6 last year....

I don't know if there is any helping you if you can't grasp that returning players is a good thing

Not to mention you post here daily and somehow think it's the same coaching staff

Seriously though, stop crushing natty lights on your forehead rebal

Here is the hard core truth. Brandon Harris was our Achilles heel last year. Had he been even 10% better than he was, we would have won at least one of those three losses with a good chance at two and possibly (not likely because going undefeated in the SECW is damn near impossible at this point) all three.

If he has improved his short passing ability, there is no reason for LSU to not be a major contender for the title. If he ends up being the same Brandon Harris we got last year, we will have pretty much the exact same season.
