So its pretty common knowledge among CFB fans that Auburn’s offense is struggling. We do manage to put up points, but I think it is important to look at the context for those points. In 2015 and 2016 season against P5 opponents Auburn has averaged 21.5 points per game. I am going to look at the last 6 games in which we are averaging 16.6 points per game. Also I don’t think I am a very good writer so sorry.

2015 – Ole Miss 27 Auburn 19

First touchdown drive – 5 plays 74 yards Sean White hits a deep pass to Ricardo Louis we actually run this play often it was executed well and I think it was called at the right time too. We just opened up the second quarter and we had run the ball a couple of times previously to set up a deep ball.

And….. we didn’t get into the endzone for the rest of the game. We kicked 3 field goals the rest of the game. 1st one after stalling at the Ole Miss 6 yard line. To set up the 2nd one we got a long pass complete to Ricardo Louis to the Ole Miss 26 and ran some hurry up runs with Jovon Robinson but we stalled at the 12 yard line and got a penalty for holding. And for the 3rd one Jeremy Johnson hit the deep ball to the Ole Miss 3. But we ran for a 1 yard loss, got a penalty for ineligible receiver downfield, and 2 incomplete passes before kicking a FG. And that was the game. One touchdown drive.

2015 – Auburn 26 Texas A&M 10 Luckily we were able to catch A&M while they were in a slump. On this game we started out fast and then fell apart after the first quarter. First touchdown drive – 11 plays 75 yards We spread the ball around the field handing off to Ricardo louis and Peyton Barber and Jeremy Johnson even hit a few throws. He even threw the 9 yard TD pass to Melvin Ray!

Second touchdown drive – 9 plays 80 yards Jovon Robinson got a big run for 45 yards down to the Texas A&M 35. A couple of passes and we were inside the 10 and a couple of runs later and Jovon Robinson rushes in for the second score This was the start of the second quarter.

And we didn’t reach the endzone for the rest of the game. We did kick 4 field goals though! We stalled at the A&M 18, 13, 3, and 14.

2015 Georgia 20 Auburn 13

First touchdown drive – 11 plays 75 yards. We got the ball first. Pretty similar to the Texas A&M first TD drive. We ran and passed for short gains, Jovon Robinson had a 23 yard run and Kerryon Johnson finished it off with a 7 yard TD run. We were quick out of the gate annnnndddd we didn’t reach the endzone for the rest of the game. Im starting to see a pattern here.

But, our lord and savior, Daniel Carlson, hit 2 field goals to keep us in the game! One the first one, we were moving pretty good but the drive was killed with an illegal formation penalty. The other one was because UGA punted the ball to their own 47 and we returned it to their 37. We got to the 21 but we got stopped.

2015 Alabama 29 Auburn 13

This game was slightly different from the rest. We started off with 2 field goals in the first half. On the first one, we drove down the field but after 3 short runs around the bama 10 we settled for a field goal. The other one, we started at the bama 49 and Jeremy hit a pass for 20 yards to Robinson but our running game stalled out around the bama 25.

Touchdown drive – 3 plays 75 yards. Jeremy Johnson connected with Jason smith on a “Miracle in Jordan Hare” imitation pass. And that was it for the game. We got one lucky pass for a TD.

2016 Clemson 19 Auburn 13

This game was pretty similar to bama. We got one field goal in the first half. It occurred on a drive where Jeremy connected on a few passes but we were stopped at the Clemson 35. The other field goal occurred in the 3rd quarter. The drive started at the Clemson 49 a nice run by Kerryon and a pass from Sean White got us to the Clemson 18 until we stalled at the 14.

Touchdown Drive – 4 plays 36 yards. Yup we got the ball at the 36. After a run by Kerryon and a roughing the passer penalty, Kerryon ran it in for a 9 yard TD. And that was it. One touchdown that was handed to us because of field position and a roughing the passer penalty.

2016 Texas A&M 29 Auburn 16

First Touchdown drive- 9 plays 80 yards. Our second drive of the game. We ran the ball well and we passed the ball well and Pettway punched it in from the 1. Overall pretty good drive.

At the end of the 2nd quarter, Kerryon had a 20 yard run and White connected with Stevens a couple of times to set up a FG.

Second touchdown drive – 11 Plays 66 yards. We were down 29-10 with 6 mintues left and threw in JF3 so pretty much garbage time. JF3 and Kerryon Johnson ran the ball down the field and Kerryon finished it with a 2 yd TD run.

And those were our last 6 P5 games. We averaged 16.6 points per game and scored 100 points but only 55 of those points were from touchdowns. So we scored 8 TDs and averaged 1.33 touchdowns per game or 9.16 points from touchdowns per game. We have a touchdown problem and we have a redzone problem. Let’s not forget that our HC is supposed to be some kind of offensive guru yet we can’t figure out how to get into the endzone. Maybe this post will shed some light on why so many Auburn fans are sick of Gus.

EDIT: I got curious about how many TDs vs FGs we have scored. So VS P5 opponents in the 2015 and 2016 seasons we have scored 24 touchdowns and 23 field goals. If you count only regulation we have scored only 21 touchdowns (We scored 3 in OT vs Arkansas).

Their offense is bad. I don't think you really need to analyze it. Just put it out of its misery.

I honestly read the first 10 or so lines and decided I don't care really....

Care to analyze Vanderbilt's defense next?

Aranda D stuffed the fastest running qb mullens ever had his words. He ran for almost 300 vs USC. Msu had 54 yards rushing I believe. Couple of lucky breaks kept Lsu from keeping msu from scoring a TD. I think we hold auburn to 10-13 points

Didn't have to read to know AU sucks in the redzone. If Daniel Carlson (kicker) doesn't declare for the draft after this season he will more than likely break the all-time NCAA scoring record.

You're not the only one, as I'm sure you've seen from most on this site.

Start with the main point. Be specific. And, use the fewest words possible.

You're welcome.
