1) only 25 bowls
2) cut bowl tie-ins
3) let bowls bid for picks
4) 25%/75% winner payout.

I get to watch bonus football for 19 days. I fail to see the issue with the current setup.

I like it. Especially the tie-ins. The SEC deserves much better than a sugar bowl versus the Cincinnati's of the world.

Which millidiot snowflake will be the first to whine about expanding the playoffs in this thread?

Somehow the USC/Penn State Rose Bowl is devalued by the Maryland/Boston College bowl game

Shorten the regular season, make a 16 or 32 team playoff with the final and semi final games the way they are now, the other rounds would be higher seed hosts, and let bowls pick up teams as they get eliminated from the playoff.

I'd also like to see the NCAA allow redshirted players to compete in bowls without losing their year of eligibility. If the playoff ever expands I think they should just eliminate redshirts altogether and give guys five years of eligibility.

The regular season will NEVER be shortened. We will only be adding games from here, not taking away.

NONE of my below suggestions will happen because bowls are just ESPN owned TV shows now and it wouldn't make them more money.

Bowl games for conference champions and ranked teams only, means about 15-20 bowl games tops.

As such you cut out all the shitty bowl locations and shitty bowl payouts.

All bowls should be big payout games against big competition in cool locations.

These would make bowls meaningful again, as they were for most of history. for most of history there were 4-6 bowl games and up until the 90's there were still only about 10-15.

If you don't like the bowls, don't watch them. Problem solved.

Exactly. I don't see anything wrong with the current format. If the game sucks I change the channel. It's nice to have the option of a football game though...

Yep. I dont see how the 3 games played today effect anyone besides the players and fans participating. If it bothers you, grab the remote. I'll be watching all the way through NYE. Bowl week is fun
