I assume A&M, Florida, and MSU are locks as of right now? South Carolina has GOT to be close, right?
Is there any chance for LSU? Ole Miss?
??????
shite's confusing yo

We locked up a Top 4 spot in Hoover with our win yesterday, so that's a good sign.

If the Ncaa did it right then we'd have 5 national seeds. Don't hold your breath.

Little chance for Ole Miss after going down 0-2 in the A&M series. Only chance would be to win the SEC Tournament.

I hate that "spread the wealth" bullshite. You should earn it by being best in the country, not have it given to you because you're the best in a region.

Agree that Fla, A&M, Moo St are locks. Things will shake out by the end of the SEC tourney, but prolly only one of USCe, LSU, Ole Miss will get a national seed.

I think the last year of the old format there were 6 SEC teams out of 8 at the CWS. Thats when they went to the regional bullshite. It does two things, gets in some northern teams and allows the good southern teams to put each other out.
The final field at the CWS will not be the best 8.

UF, A&M, MSU, MIA, UL, & TTU are lead pipe locks.
That leaves 2 spots. At this point I would guess USC & UVA are probably the 2 most deserving, but who knows if the committee would give the SEC & ACC that many.

If LSU runs the table, which is a big if, but they are playing very well, they could be in play for a national seed.

That is probably true of a few teams like FSU or NCST.
I wonder how high Rice, FAU, or CSF would go if they ran the table. Probably still not high enough RPI wise.

OM also had their worst RPI loss of the year this week. They've WAOM'd pretty hard at the end here.

yeah, national seed went down the drain with our 2nd basemans error in the 3rd inning last nite. Ole Miss will host a regional however. and maybe the national we are matched up with will lose. all is not lost.

Yes it is. Let's be honest here...Ole miss ain't winning a championship in any sport. U know damn well the best you do is play for second place in anything. Hotty toddy tho

Agreed. Is it unlikely they win out. Of course. But if they did they'd probably get one.

As others have stated, a national seed is a long shot but if LSU extends its current 11 game win streak to 16 or 17 including an SEC tournament title it will have the best resume of the teams you have listed.

ETA: NC State is a couple of spots higher on the RPI but is 3-7 in its last 10 games and won't sniff 40 wins.

I hope UF wins game 3. I don't want the #1 overall seed. No #1 overall seed has won the NC is a pretty long time.

IMO remaining sec national seeds are between S. Carolina and LSU. It will be decided in Hoover.

I am aware. But most expect the committee to limit the # of SEC teams. I can only say the SEC deserves 5 national seed so many times. If we consider UF, A&M, and MSU locks, which I think most do, there may be one more SEC national seed, there may not. If there is and LSU runs the table (huge if) then maybe LSU gets one, maybe not. I listed teams like Rice & CSF because the committee is likely looking at other conferences.
