I keep getting this abhorrent statue picture when I google Ironbowl and it appears to me that the head is grossly disproportionate to the body?
Both schools have engineering programs and somebody fricked up was it War Tiger or Red Elephant?
The forum deserves the truth and somebody needs to claim responsibility here.

No. The original (and current) statue holds a spear.
There was a long period in between when the statue held a torch (which is pictured above - not sure whose idea that was).
It sits on a mountain high over the city, and the torch was normally lit up in green, but would be changed to red for the 24 hours following a traffic fatality.

Why would an Alabama fan choose to make personal attacks against a fellow member who is making an honest inquiry into a vexing issue?
Usually such a stance is representative of a guilty conscience and perhaps you hold information identifying the idiot savants school of origin.
Remember in this: Klondike Cat always gets his mouse.

Google is your friend.
Birmingham was called the "Magic City" because it grew so quickly. The city's leaders wanted to advertise Birmingham and the state of Alabama to the world by entering an exhibit in the St. Louis World's Fair. James A. MacKnight, the manager of the Alabama State Fair, decided a statue of Vulcan would best highlight the area's growing industrial abilities. Mr. MacKnight searched for a sculptor, and finally found Giuseppe Moretti, an Italian immigrant who had come to New York City in 1888 and was becoming well known for creating large and beautiful

Yeah, umm, what on earth would an engineer have to do with the design of a statue?
That's some art school bull crap.
You can thank a structural engineer, I guess that even with a giant, disproportionate head, the statue hasn't tipped over ever.

The plan is to ultimately replace Vulcan with a statue of Saban

So I guess UGA does not teach a class on Mythology. Vulcan, as well as Hephaestus, the Greek version, was a malformed god. Try reading sometime.

Actually they do but its more about how Georgia is relevant in the SEC.

Moon over Homewood.
but folks in Homewood complained...
so,
"What we did was rotate him a little bit to the east, I think around 15 degrees,"
i.e...toward Auburn.

automatic downvote with childish "UAt". Even made a lowercase "t".
