So what happened to Jeremy Johnson?

I'll admit, I bought into the hype from the small amount that I saw him play last year and his size. I was very worried about Auburn before the season.
So what happened? Is he just melting under the pressure of the guy? Was he just more relaxed as a back up?
Is it too early to write him off?
The cynical side of me still fears that he will have his awakening against LSU this week.

Jeff Driskell disease... Must be contagious, I see it's spreading around the SEC this year...

I think he bought into the hype and hasn't put in the time and effort needed to be able to read a defense.

2 things from what I have seen:
I don't think he is making the correct reads of the defense on many plays.
If he rolls out of the pocket to pass his accuracy suffers. Looks like he is dropping his elbow and he floats the ball which can/has ended up as a pick.

I think its mostly the pressure of being the guy but JJ has a tremendous work ethic and drive. I believe he can get through this and be as good as advertised. Just afraid this season might be lost by the time it happens.

Maybe he just wasn't that good to begin with?

I believe this to be the case, but I sure hope he proves me right. I will let you know in a couple of more games.

What does Auburn fan think about his prospects in TS Saturday? Does he break out of this funk or continue to digress? My feeling is he finds the road tough going but doesn't have an awful game, per se.

Hey, all the great ones throw interceptions.

I think he has to have quick/easy passes with the offense running up-tempo. I think he gets rattled by pressure easily early in the games, so letting him sit back in the pocket early with pressure and the early game jitters would set him up for another abysmal showing.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see Jason Smith come in and run some wildcat/read-option this weekend.

I think you see our passing game go very conservative early. If we start fast on the ground then you will see us start to take shots. If we can't get anything going on the ground then I think things start getting bleak as JJ forces the ball

Death sentence for a QB. His hype was all based off of potential, nothing more nothing left. Can he turn it around, sure but what I see so far is that he has made some bad decisions and he is an okay athlete but no where close to the athlete that Auburn needs at QB running their offense.

Muschamp brought it over from Florida.

I think it would show some common sense. They have to have a wrinkle in there if JJ goes full retard and the running game isn't getting it done.
If we walk into Death Valley, get punched in the mouth by JJ throwing to the other team, and the coaches continue that path, I'll lose all faith in them.
