So what are MSU fans thoughts on Mullens trying to strong-arm them?

Dude got an extension and raise after last year's record, and fell back this year. Instead of focusing on rebounding, he searched every job available...but got denied. Has the shine worn off, or is the hunchback still in good graces with the cowbell fanbase?

He wasn't strong arming state. He was trying to get the hell out of Starkville. No one wanted to pay him anywhere close to what they are paying

What are they going to do about it?

Go get someone better?

Doubtful.

It's part of the game. Blame the agents for wanting to make more money. I can assure you mullin doesn't need anymore.

What do you know? He could have been interviewing but he could have rejected some. To answer your question, he is pretty good shape at State. The fan base loves him and If he did leave, most would understand and be thankful for what he did for the program. Kinda like what they did for Dak last Saturday

There were only two available jobs he was interested in. Georgia and Miami.

He can start by finishing strong in recruiting.

I don't think he played us - this year. He was mentioned for Maryland, Georgia and Miami. He didn't even give Maryland the time of day. Maryland lines up against OSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State. That is just as bad as staying at State in the West. He would have taken Georgia in a heart beat. But, they wanted to go with one of theirs. Miami would have been a reach for him but I think he was in the mix but was probably 3 or 4 out of 4 candidates. Everyone knew it was Richt's to lose. I don't think he gets a raise beyond his normal progression in his contract - with an extension.

Agree. You knew his name would come up with as many openings as there were

Aside from losing to Ole Miss, State did as well or better than expected. Most folks had State last in the west, and thought the offense would be awful due to the O-line..

While the O-line was not very good, the offense was still one of the best in the SEC. Interestingly enough, it was very different than the previous (run heavy) MSU offenses.

I'm just glad we're not as bad as Auburn.

Maryland job came up and ppl thought he would go but no way he was leaving State for Maryland. Kirby Smart name was wanted for awhile and I thought personally Smart was content where he was. He must have waited for that job to come available . Miami isnt the same program that it was 10, 15, 20 years ago. Richt was unemployed and needed a job. He still has a good name. I would hire him too.

Gonna be honest. If I were Richt, I wouldn't have taken a job so soon, especially the Miami job.

Yea, I don't think so. Mullen actually knows a thing or two about the game. Freeze is more like Nutt; albeit a much improved version of Nutt.

I dont know old Richt is but that will be my question. Does he have some gas in the tank. I dont want to be like South Carolina and my coach leave in the middle of the season.

I am retired and if I had his buyout, I would have taken it to the lake house and watched the sun go down every afternoon so I don't understand what makes these guys' clock tick. I understand the going home as as an alumnus and all but Miami is a tough rebuild.
