Are the Ole Miss fans excited about the hires and will they lend stability to the program? Do the hires make OM better as a program?

I don't know how he will do as a DC but I will miss McGriff as our DB's coach.

Mcgriff is a great recruiter but has never been a DC so it will be interesting to see how he does. I think Longo is gonna be either a great OC or is gonna be a disaster.

I'm not particularly excited about either hire but I'm not sure our defense could get any worse and I don't think Freeze will ever give complete control to anyone else with regards to the offense so it will probably remain the same. Biggest hit might be losing Kiffin's recruiting.

McGriff is a great recruiter though. I think Freeze did the best he could with what he had. I'm guessing this is the last staff Freeze has at OM due to either impending probation, firing due to lack of success or both.

My thoughts as well. Our defensive recruiting should be solid as well as our DB coaching...

Will be curious to see if he'll run the same style of defense that we've been running. We don't exactly have the personnel to run the 4-3.

As long as we get Cam Akers I don't give a shite who our OC is...Would have rather had Leavitt as DC, but I like McGriff enough.

Both are upgrades though from last year.

Both are risks but both have high upsides. We can't be picky right now. Our program is toxic.

Yes but that 8 percent usually comes with a nice trip and a bag of free shite like PS4, Xbox.... would take a shitload of Red Lobster to make up for that.

But we need to make the change to the 4-3.

Longo will put up points. The question is when he goes against the top Defenses in this league, will his scheme and playcalling work.

The defense we ran depended on our linebackers. When we had decent linebacker play, that side was pretty solid.

I like the 4-2-5 going up against the current landscape of college football. Most teams that we face run a 3-4 WR offense.

Yea but when your 4-2-5 can't stop the run you don't beat anyone. We will probably have to agree to disagree but our inability to stop the power rushing attacks in the last couple of years in this conference have kept s out of Atlanta. Im a believer the 4-2-5 was a main reason (Especially when you don't have a healthy Tony Connor in the Husky).
