Why couldn't lsu stay in top four with a loss if Bama is already in with one loss? Why are we assuming the loser has to drop out? Losing at Bama probably more impressive than losing against piss. Just saying.

Eta: I think lsu wins Saturday. Just food for thought.

Because your fans are making excuses for the loss four days before the game.

Because the media has some love affair with Bama. They just beat themselves. Nobody else ever gets credit for beating them.

I was just thinking about that and I think there is a real possibility that they could drop to 4 and stay there as they would then have the best loss in the country, if there is such a thing, and the big 12 doesn't have a conference champ. If ever there was a chance two teams would get in this would be it.

Conversely, everyone on here believes that Bama's wins were due to poor performances by the opposing team and Bama's opponents are never that good to start with, despite the current ranking.

I would think that if the loss is by a small margin, LSU might stay in.
Although the committee, like polls, prefer a loss early in the year.

2011 was a different bird. LSU and UA were clearly the 2 best teams in the country. No one else was even close.

LOL at how pissed other conferences are going to be.

11-1 LSU with close loss to 12-1 Bama would deserve a spot over all 11-1 Big 12 Co Champions if that's how it plays out.

Still think you gotta win the conference. Rember last year, they only look at the season to date, it's not where they think you'll finish. It's more of a current seating , than a poll. The champions have not been factored in yet.

Bama and Notre Dame are allowed more losses than any other teams. That is just the way it is and we have to accept it. Only way to stop it is beat them Saturday. Even with two losses they will still be in the top 10.

What a shite storm this would be.

The rest of the country would be pissed. It is an interesting hypothetical. If Bama ends up 12-1 and the SEC champ and LSU is 11-1 with it's only loss to the #2 team in the final 4, how far can you really drop them? It would even have potential for an LSU vs Bama National Championship rematch.

Because LSU doesn't have the national name brand Bama does.
