I have seen many many post and skimmed through some. What are the strongest possibilities here as for as violations? Will this end up being serious or just a mild punishment, thanks!

I really don't think it will be what people on here are saying. I'm thinking less than what USC got. Probation of a couple of years and lose a few schollies, limited contact with recruits.

Well, if what people are saying about how limited the NCAA is in what evidence they can use, it sounds like someone can commit murder, tell the world about it, but if they don't say it directly to the NCAA investigators, then nothing willawson@ecardio.com happen. Don't know if that's true, but they might get off with a slap on the wrist if it is.

U mean absolutely nothing? No coaches coming off the recruiting trail for a week or so. Not even a hand slap for a current or former coach in their NCAA file? I have a feeling something will happen but it will be minor.

Everyone says the hammer but can't name one violation that would warrant it. The worst they have is Saunders that got ULL 9 schollys and the Tunsil stuff which is a couple hundred $ unless people have facts showing other wise. They just want it to happen.

I'm sure people will reply "oh it's coming" or "oh I know about stuff but I just won't say the specifics for no reason at all."

This is blasphemous... the Ole Miss situation is super cereal. All signs point towards the Death Penalty.

It's not like this is a new situation that doesn't happen somewhere every year.
Unless the system changes, or unless it's something a
little more serious like the Penn State thing, it's the same thing over and over and over.
There will be some minor punishment handed out and everyone will go about their business and a week later it will be last weeks news.

If the ncaa ends up believing that the Tunsil twitter screen shot messages with the athletic dept official was proof of an illegal payment scheme, then that is big time lack of institutional control and would lead without a doubt to severe penalties.

Yup, sounds right to me. I think one thing going against ole miss in this is the amount of media and press this has gotten (thanks Tunsil!) - it's almost like the NCAA has to hand out at least a little something.

"The only thing they got.........", don't know why people keep using this statement. Used it to tell us Tunsil kept a loaner car a few days longer........but in the end, their was a loan, plane tickets, rental cars, overnight stays and additional loaner cars........so quit acting like you know what they have in OM, you know everything that has leaked or been told.

One curious post I saw elsewhere raises an interesting question........the night that Tunsil says stepdad assaulted in mom, he left the house and went somewhere else after punching stepdad. Wondering why you leave you mom with the dude that just assaulted her? Seems like I would take her with me or stay there to make sure nothing else happened.

Just look at the UNC situation for a perfect example of why nothing will happen to Ole Miss.

They're gonna get something. This NCAA has been less than harsh the last few years. May want to flex some muscle.

Two things
The NCAA is not a legal entity. They can do whatever they want proof or no proof. Believe me, I know.

2nd...nobody has any idea what they will do. People will speculate but nobody will know until penalties are read.

If they don't after this case, I'm afraid the NCAA might lose any credibility they have left. My personal feeling is they make an example of the rebs. Have a feeling they throw the book at this bunch.

Why do people keep equating Ole Miss with UNC?

UNC is one of the most popular brands in all of sports. The NCAA doesn't want to hammer a household name.

Now compare that with a brand that almost nobody outside of Mississippi and Memphis cares about, you see where I'm going with this?

Comparing UNC to Ole Miss is like comparing a Ferrari to a Moped.

They probably told the NCAA they had come clean on Tunsil.

Then it is shown national TV that they lied to the NCAA and coaching and the AD's office were involved.

LOIC.

We know that you hope that happened but we will have to wait and see what is actually happening.

We will know next week and it will start the ending of the process.

tRant will not be happy, but it will not be major. The negative PR we have got recently from opposing fan's media will probably be the worse part of it.

First week of June tRant will move on to another school as the center of their focus and making issues of nothing.

Once release half the MSU fanbase will cry foul, Tennessee fans will return to defending rape culture, Aggies will fill more jars, Bama will not care, Arkansas will go to a buffet and LSU will say "Geaux to Hell"

Auburn will invite us for a toast
