Sleeping on Moo-State?

I’ve seen many posts the last few months about Moo-state. Some say:

“they will be unable to match up with all of our talent;”

they will be… “last in the west;”

they…” lost too much to graduation;”

their fans … “are delusional to think they will beat [fill in blank;]”

the team is… “too young without any talent;”

their QB is.. “overrated and has no one to throw to;” etc.

Point I: “Talent” is strictly a comparative term. If you have a team of 22-four stars it is hugely talented… but how will it do against a team of 22-five stars?

Point II: “Recruitment stars” are given to rate recruits, not upperclassmen. A 5-star is an 18-19 year old freshman who can immediately help the team. He is not necessarily better than a 3-star 3-L redshirted 23-year old senior.

After taking a quick look at the quality of Moo State two deep, here is what we find:

I. They are possibly the “oldest” and “most experienced” team in the west. Their entire 2-deep roster has juniors or seniors at almost every position, all with multiple letters.

II. At every position they were rated as freshmen recruits as 0.82 or higher. With their entire roster having three–four-or five years in the system or in JC, the recruiting ranking no longer applies.

III. They will have the best returning QB in the league, and an “old man” bull dozer offensive line, and a veteran homogeneous defense.

Conclusion? Don’t sleep on Moo state.
