Repost from The Rant, courtesy of Will Cover. Didn't post for any reason save I just thought all SEC fans should have a chance to send thoughts and prayers to this courageous young man.

You Corndog fans on here can be real assgaskets sometimes and the next 2 weeks are going to prove me right. I am no LSU fan, not at all.

BUT, and I have said this before, I respect Les Miles and hell I like the guy. He is a class act and shows it all the time, and here he is doing it again.

I already hoped LSU would beat Bama...

But this kid makes me hope for it 5x more. Hopefully he goes out with a smile on his face from a big win for his beloved team.

That kid has shown tremendous bravery and heart. I cannot imagine losing one of my kids...it's not supposed to happen that way.

I've always said that Les is a helluva guy. Truly one of the best representatives of the SEC, of any sport or capacity.

Les is a class act and one of the really good characters in the SEC. For that reason alone, I tend to root for LSU when not watching AU.

Prayers for this young man and his family. I cant imagine what the kid and his parents must be going through.

When my daughter was in the high school band, there was kid in the drum line that got diagnosed with stage four bone cancer. He was the kind of kid who was always smiling and laughing. Everybody loved him. He was unable to march most of his senior year due to chemo and just pure pain. On senior night, he came out and played the hell out of a solo. You couldn't find a dry eye in the stadium. He passed away less than a month later.

Keep praying Sid. For you sir:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

We all worry about the most stupid things in life. And then some person like this young comes along and puts things in perspective.

Not because Sid is a big LSU fan, but because he is somebody's child and loved by more people than he or we can count. Lord, have mercy. God have mercy. Lord have mercy.
