If he just hired a legit offensive coordinator and gave the guy total control over the offense the Gators would be a 10 win team with the fire that their D plays with.

Unfortunately it seems Boom has a certain style of offense he wants to run. This will probably be his undoing.

Exactly. The game on sat night proved it to me. We're 4-5, open it up take a f'n chance. What did we have to lose?
I know, I know the QB was making his first start. But guess what so was Mizzou's that game they lit us up for 36 points.
If Skyler was good enough to get a scholarship to UF. Is it too much of a stretch to think he can throw the ball 10 to 20 yards down the field maybe more than 4 times before the last drives of the 4th quarter? The guy was 2 of 2 for 8yds passing at halftime.

That shite is old and tired. Urb hasn't been calling the offensive plays, the past 3 seasons.

Yall went 11-2 last year with no playmakers on offense. None. You did it by playing suffocating defense and playing it extremely conservative with Driskell.

Florida overachieved last year. There is no excuse for the lack of players on offense on that team. You can't run ANY offense with those players. The best bet was to stick with the formula. With the injuries there was no way to sustain any type of success. That has to be considered.

Muschamp inherited a mess. I think Florida fans need to put their faith in Jeremy Foley at this point. It's going to take at least 2 more recruiting classes to put together any semblance of an offensive philosophy.

I disagree. Brent Pease is the main reason our O sucks so bad.
Vandy puts up points. Do they have better players than UF? With the exception of Jordan Matthews, I say hell no. Vandy is averaging 31.3 pts ppg UF is avg. 19.1 pts.
Vandy has used just as many QB's as UF. UF's coaching staff is horrendous. 5 star O Tackle that can't block. Not one QB on the roster that function at all in the pocket.

Mauck is lucky though....he has guys like DGB and all those small forward sized WR's to throw to. All of Mizzou's skill players are better than UF's, except maybe Kelvin Taylor, but he's a true frosh.

It's weird, but UF simply has no legit talent at the skill positions. That, coupled with Boom's conservative philosophy, injured QB's, and mediocre OL play results in the kind of offense that you see every week from the Gators.

Mizzou has no 5 star O linemen on their roster. Yet they seem to be able to function. It's coaching. 2 Gators were drafted off of last years offense. How many offenses in college football ranked worse than 100th in total offense had 2 players drafted last season?
The talent is not being developed.

Bill King said on his radio show today that he spoke with an assistant that coaches with Muskrat that told him "it has been absolutely miserable coaching for the guy."

I guess in the eyes of Musky it is everyone else's fault

It's hard to say really. Quinton Dunbar, Solomon Patton, and Trey Burton don't exactly instill fear in opposing defenses. Deonte Thompson always had sick speed, which is why he probably made the Ravens.

UF's skill players are def better than those teams.

The ranking has more to do with Muschamp's philosphy. Pretty sure the Gators are at the top or near the top in time of possession. They want to control the clock...but they are controlling the clock with a pitiful offense that lacks play makers.

Again, Gillislee and Jordan Reed got drafted. With these 2 guys on our offense we managed to field an offense on par with S. Alabama and New Mexico State. I wonder how many Jaguars and Aggies got drafted last season?

UF's main problem has been injuries. Missouri went 5-7 last year despite a roster full of talent...due to injuries across the board.

The fact that UF nearly beat UGA and USC despite being so depleted is actually impressive imo.

We have two camps now. Fire Muschamp today and give him one more year. Both are annoying to the other.

I thought our game plan was pretty darned good for the USC game. If not for an offensive PI call that was missed and a bad FG kicker we could have won that game with a third string QB with no arm and zero experience.

I don't have a big problem with bringing Muschamp back next season. Because of his ability to coach the defense. But he has to find a competent O.C. and O line coach. And the offense has to improve dramatically next season.

As fun as it can be to watch an a-hole bad coach take down a good program, always remember you want the Shulas and Chiziks and Muschamps to win just enough to keep their jobs.

But Dice410 I realize you want Fl and Tn to get better to give LSU and bama tougher games which is obviously smart.

Regardless I suggest you enjoy Muschamp and hope we get another season out of him.

Did I see somewhere that FL will have to give WM a check for $8M if they tell him to leave this year?

I like him, and I do like his attitude. And in the full context of what he said, he is damned right. Though they scatter like roaches when you call them out, there are people on some of our boards on other sites who have been giving the kids shite instead of just the coaches and then hiding behind some flimsy rational about really wanting what's best for them. The kids on the field don't deserve that kind of treatment from their own people regardless of how much of a business college football has turned into. I could get into that side, but I will save everyone a "tl; dr." I like having a guy who just says it without worrying about how to spin it. As far as the growing up bit, someone said it best earlier -- if we were 10-0 right now, everyone would love him punching a chalk board.

He's going to be here next year. If we don't beat Georgia and are still in the hunt for the east in November, then I will agree that he needs to go. But in all honesty, I don't doubt that he will be on his way out at that point regardless of the torches-and-pitchfork crows anyway. It isn't worth getting pissed about. Florida won't willingly lapse into ignominy, and regardless of Foley's pull, he still works for somebody too.
