Man this schedule sets up so nicely...

Remaining Game Breakdown -

Nevada - At Home, I won't say the word cupcake because we saw what happened to the last person to use that word to describe an inferior opponent so I will call this game a "Depth Tester"

Arkansas - In Dallas (pretty much another home game), in all honesty even after their performance last week, this game worries me the 2nd most on the schedule. Ball state opened the game last week with 78 rushing yards the first 2 plays. I know they have injuries but this will be our first SEC test of stopping the run. I think we win but it will be loser than some think.

Mississippi St - At Home, yet another home game and getting them after they had to travel to Auburn the week before. Regardless of how Auburn has looked this will be physical game and then they travel next week to college station. This sets up nicely for us.

Bye Week - Bye week before Alabama, Sumlin is usually pretty solid with extra time to prepare. Again a home game and we get Alabama after they play Arkansas the week before at home.

Alabama - See above.

Ole Miss - Away... this is the game I see us as most likely to lose. Away game after Bama the week before. Ole Miss gets Memphis the week before. If I had to circle a game I would think we would lose this would be #1.

After that the schedule still sets up nicely...

SCAR - At home, Spurrier gets a bye week to prepare for A&M, but unless I see a dramatic improvement for SCAR I do not see this being a loss.

Auburn - At home, another SEC home game. Auburn has Ole Miss the week before and that should be a big game for both teams. We get SCAR the week before. Advantage us.

Western Carolina - At home, we get a break this week and get to play an inferior opponent after a long SEC stretch.

Vanderbilt - Away game, The easiest SEC matchup we will have this season, although its on the road I do not see this game being competitive after the 2nd quarter.

LSU - Away, this will most likely be a night game in Tigers Stadium, Chiefs return, A&M plays Western Carolina and Vandy the weeks coming into this game. LSU plays Arkansas and Ole Miss (Ole Miss being a road game). A&M will be better rested and ready to go and chief will be looking for revenge.

All that being said. I realize since we have joined the SEC "Home field" hasn't been much of an advantage, and hell it might not be this year either.. however, our schedule sets up extremely nicely to make a run for the West.

No complaints on our schedule.

11-1, 10-2 is very possible if we stay healthy.

Would be awesome if the West came down to the last week of the season in Death Valley. We shall see what Ole Miss and Bama have to say about that though.

TL;DR version: Our schedule sets up amazingly for us to have a good year, doesnt mean we will, but schedule will not be an excuse.

This way no one can accuse them of cheating because of proximity, seeing as aTm doesn't ever win anything.

Makes sense.

You do play us, MSU, after we play Auburn. But you also play Ark the week before and that will be a physical game as well. So only a slight edge on the travel part. Either way should be a good game.

The predictable and annual early season rise of ATM. Last year you had cute nicknames, before that you had JFF, so much hope for a team we all know will finish no better than third in the SEC West.
Win a division title, hell finish second....do something before running your mouth like fat Bert.

Oh, and College Station is a SHITHOLE.

Except for maybe Ole Miss or Alabama I really don't see us losing any more games.

If trump becomes president you'll be out a defensive coordinator. Then it's back to square one.

2012
crappy Ole Miss team and La Tech prior....lose 24-19

2013
crappy MSU team and a bye week prior....lose 34-10

2014

You really do have a great schedule setup.

I think MSU will be tough, but it should be a win. Arkansas will be a win for you. Bama is beatable the year with a good passing game. Auburn is a given W at this point.

I think LSU and Ole Miss will be your tough tests, they both have a secondary that can keep your passing in check.

Why does everyone think the Ole Miss game is an automatic loss for A&M?

Yes Ole Miss has scored 76 and 73 points in its two games--to an FCS school and to an FBS school who had its 15 minutes of fame years ago. They took care of business against their rent-a-win teams (unlike Arkansas and nearly Auburn as well) but that's still not major competition.

Beat Alabama and Florida (or at least make the games close) and then I'll be a little more concerned.
