Who the hell would want to visit the HQ of the SEC? It's not like it's a museum. All it is is a freaking office building where men and women collectively work for eight hours a day before going home to their families.

Nah Houston, New Orleans and Atlanta would be the best cities for the office. It needs to be in a metropolitan hub.

So your saying Alabama cuts its scheduling deals by only charging the tenant $1 rent.

Yes. The University of Alabama actually owns the property that the SEC office rents for $1 per year. This has slipped the notice of everyone else but you - a message board mensa candidate. Congratulations. You've uncovered the biggest conspiracy since the Kennedy assasination.

Birmingham is centally located across the conference (actually a small town outside of Bham is the geographic center of the SEC, but you get the point). Bama is 45 minutes away. AU is 90 minutes away. Any major city in the conference is going to have a university close by. No one complained about the SEC offices in Bham when DuBose, Fran, and Shula were coaching. It didn't help Bama then and it isn't helping Bama now. The reason Bama has been successful is a result of coaching and excellent talent.

St. Louis would be perfect. It is the best city in the SEC Region, and our conference shouldnt accept anything less than the best.

Well, ever since Georgia Tech and Tulane left the SEC, the conference has tried to hang on to ties with Atlanta and New Orleans. In recent decades, the SEC Championship Game, conference basketball (and even baseball) tournaments, etc. have been held in one or both of those cities (not to mention, the tie-in with the Sugar Bowl).

As an Alabaman who has spent a pretty good deal of time in Atlanta, Birmingham, and New Orleans, I would say:

Birmingham = Bama fans > NFL Falcons fans > Auburn fans
Atlanta = NFL Falcons fans > UG fans > Georgia Tech fans
New Orleans = NFL Saints fans > LSU fans > Tulane fans

Translation: The general populations of Atlanta and New Orleans are probably less biased towards SEC schools than Birmingham is. However, UG and LSU are more popular in Atlanta and New Orleans than the home teams of Georgia Tech and Tulane, for whatever that's worth...

I find it typical that most people that want it moved are nominating cities closer to their college towns.

WHY? What the hell is there it "visit" at the SEC HQ? What is there to see but a bunch of office workers? It'd be like visiting your local social security office, or the department of transportaion - just office workers.

bamasgot13. Thank god your so good at reading sarcasm and thank you for my nomination as the message board Mensa candidate. I'm honored and I would see that there would be no one better to run against than the all mighty bamasgot13. What a name by the way, good thing my fellow posters and I are illiterate and have your name to check to see how many national championships Alabama has won. Conspiracy??? what does that mean?? and who is this John F. Kennedy that you speak of I can't find him on any past Alabama rosters...

If Bama fans really don't believe that then your dumb as frick b/c yall's east opponents and schedule next yr is about as weak as anyones has been in yrs in the SEC! How much can we pay the refs for no holding calls this game when big country in the middle is bringing dudes down to the ground like clockwork ? Its evidently more rediculous than ever!
