The rules have changed hence the reason for a 2017 Big XII Championship game in Arlington

The rules kept the main stipulations in place, which is the reasoning for divisions over 12 teams. The NCAA will require divisions for a long time.

Even during the supposed domination of the SEC East in the late 90's the championship games were still interesting with the SEC West teams putting up a much better fight than we have seen recently with the SEC East

I say the SEC has each university pick 4 permanent rivals they would like to play every year then the other conference games could be rotated

The top 2 teams play in Atlanta

4 permanent rivals for LSU

Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
State

I like it & have started this same thread more than once

this would be the best solution

but, no way would LSU get Auburn

you might not get Alabama, in fact, you probably would not

Bama gets AU, State & Tenn for sure

Auburn gets UGA, UF, Bama & Tenn

my guess would be that LSU would draw - Ole Miss, State, aTm & Arky

if the SEC wanted to adopt this plan, no way would the NCAA stand in the way

It's an NCAA rule, so yes they could. Every other conference would have to vote on it.

Vandy can't play everybody. So it's a bad idea.

I said they would not stand in the way

Not that they could not, so I am merely expressing an opinion

I believe if our conference wanted to adapt this plan, neither the NCAA nor he other conferences would stand in the way

In fact, the B1G and the ACC would be more likely to follow suit than oppose us

But again, that's just my opinion
