Should the SEC do away with divisions

Even during the supposed domination of the SEC East in the late 90's the championship games were still interesting with the SEC West teams putting up a much better fight than we have seen recently with the SEC East
I say the SEC has each university pick 4 permanent rivals they would like to play every year then the other conference games could be rotated
The top 2 teams play in Atlanta
4 permanent rivals for LSU
Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
State

The divisions aren't that lopsided when you remove Bama from the equation
Going to 9 games with another permanent rival and adding Auburn to the East makes a lot more sense

What about the two Auburn wins and the two LSU wins
All 4 of those games were blowouts as well so it has not just been the Gumps kicking your heads in

Two LSU wins? Am I forgetting one?
Two of those three games were against South Carolina and Missouri (and Auburn's win over Mizzou wasn't non-competitive). Florida was in one of its worst stretches ever and Georgia was mediocre. Obviously Bama is in the West and needs to be accounted for, but if Bama was in the East I'm sure the situation would be reversed and you'd see Kentucky fans talking shite to West fans like you see Ole Miss fans talking shite to East fans

If you include 2007 to make it 9 out of the last 10
To tell the truth in all actuality these last few seasons in Gainesville are closer to the top than the bottom in regards to Florida football throughout the years
Unless your memory does not predate the early 1990's

Only university I could say that can say they have been under performing is UT if you look at the historical norm
Besides that even when the East was supposedly great it was more like Florida Tennessee SEC West and UGA then the rest of the SEC East if you wanted to rank them in the late 90's
If you want to rank them as of right now I have to say you have Bama, Florida and the SEC West besides State UGA and UT then State and the rest of the SEC East
Point being the SEC West has always been a tougher division even in the bad years

The west REALLY dick rides Bama hard, huh. Outside of them the west didn't come close to dominating the east last year.

Sorry bud, but LSU isn't one of the teams Auburn would pick.
Auburn's 4 most traditional rivals, and our first choices would definitely be:
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
Tennessee
Traditionally speaking, I don't think y'all make Bama's cut either. Every year Alabama used to play:
Auburn
Tennessee
Mississippi State
Vanderbilt

LSU would NOT pick any football traditional power, if they really could pick their rivals.
More than likely their choices would be
Ole Miss
State
Arkansas
Missouri, with strong consideration for Vanderbilt

Can't, if they want to have a title game.

The SEC took the right first step in abolishing divisions in basketball. The next step is to get rid of basketball altogether so that UK is free to find a more competitive league to play in.

Does the Big XII have 12 teams?
It is an NCAA rule that if you have a championship game, you must complete a round robin within your divisions and have at least 12 teams. There is an exception for conferences under 12 if they follow a few stipulations. For conferences over 12, they would be unable to follow those, that's why the rule still stands that you must have divisions.
