Either this week or next, look for OK to drop to #4 or Bama to move up to #1. OU is playing the best of anybody in the country right now, the PTB knows it will kill ratings if it is a Clemson vs MSU/Iowa final game.

I think Clemson stays #1 and they either make OU #4 because "Iowa/MSU got 1 more quality win bumping them up" or make OU #2 and Bama #3 this week giving OU home field in Dallas.

Is there any significance to being the home team in the neutral site playoff game?

It is just something the committee has said they want to try to avoid

You're missing his point and I agree with him. They would rather not have Oklahoma and Bama play each other in a semifinal. They would like to see them play for the championship because it would be a much bigger hyped game for the NC.

Which kills the Committees unbiased voting mission statement.

You would get a lot more tickets sold having both OU and Bama in Dallas. Clemson in Miami needs to happen as well. Big Ten winner has to just get fricked. Miami or Dallas will be one hell of a trip for either fanbase

If Alabama is the higher seed and has to play a basic road game in Dallas against Oklahoma it would probably get a few eyebrow raises. I'm guessing they just avoid the issue altogether but bumping OU up to #2.

Just to be clear you're saying the committee is biased and will manipulate rankings for ratings, correct.
You do know who the committee members are...

Why, their bias is to promote the playoff instead of seeding based on quality.

They'll try to set up a Bama/Oklahoma title game, I hope. Clemson/Sparty/Iowa just aren't exciting opponents to me.

Bama stays #2

OU drops to #4

MSU/IOWA #3 (they move up because of one extra win)

as long as the committee agrees on which four teams should be in the playoffs it doesn't really matter where they are in the top four. If you win you win, no big deal.

Their bias is that they are the enforcement arm of a subsidiary of one of the largest companies in the world.

Alabama and Oklahoma playing is a MUST happen if we are both in. Money money money

Think last year, TCU might not have been as good as OSU last year but OSU got in because money. I looked at a chart of the top rated games this year and OSU has the top 3 rated games and another 2 in the top 15. Dont think for a second that OSU doesnt get in if either we lose or Clemson loses.

Billions of dollars and thousands of jobs are on the line for this
