You did have some interesting posts. I expect our teams to play a lot in the coming years.

Sure, I hope they do play many more times. I forget exactly what happened to get me banned but, I probably deserved it.

I'll tell you one thing I do remember though, it was fun talking to most Ohio State fans, and refreshing.

They are fans of a team that know national success and are used to sustained excellence over a very long period of time.

Talking to them was so different than what Alabama fans have to deal with in the SEC.

It was so unusual having football conversations with people that weren't absolutely devoured and consumed by bitterness and jealousy and derision.

Were you thinking of going with an "In the Stall" approach or "Over the Urinal"?

Quit worrying about mythical popularity contests and just count undefeated seasons. No shame in that.

Serious question: explain the term auNeck to me. I've seen the others - Boogs, Barners, etc., and I "get" those, but I've never seen that one. Is it just a contraction of Auburn University Redneck, or does it mean something else? Do you pronounce the au (as in Auburn), or is it pronounced as letters (a.u.Necks)?
I've seen "au" substituted in words before- like ausome - where it is a clever play on the word, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Also, why is Neck capitalized in the middle of the word? For emphasis?
Is this a common derogatory term that others use, or did you invent it?
Seriously curious.

Dude I've been wondering that this whole time. I wanted to ask him, but I doubt you'd get a sincere response.

My guess is that is a play on the word redneck. But based on the way his brain appears to work... who the frack knows

Whether you GUNTS like it or not, there is no such thing as a national title in cfb. You cant win a title by being VOTED into a game.
Also, stop letting a game, played by kids, determine your sense of self worth.

He is the only one i have ever seen use the term. He tried to get it going on another Bama board but it never quite caught on. Pretty AccUrate though.

Like they are now? No bowl game result goes into NCAA record books. Not even the "MNC" game. Every bowl game is an exhibition.

Was all this an explanation why getting motor boated by Texas in a year the Hawgs whipped them makes you a better team?

I admit, when it comes to claiming a championship in a year when you lost to a team that another undefeated team beat... well no one can deny Bama desperately claiming this one.

Not your typical Bama fan right there. NO this one is way farther gone towards the need to feel good about himself it is Carnival. Congrats on being a fan of one of the best football teams of all time. But not the best football team all of the time. Now GFY.

The misconception is that I want it to catch on. It's a term I use and I've never asked anyone else to use it.

While some may prefer to call auNecks by terms like Sweet Aubie, Lovely Barners, or Most Righteous Plainsmen, I prefer to call them auNecks.

I feel that auNecks, the term, is equally as insulting and degrading as Bammer or Stupid Bammer is. Maybe it is; maybe it isn't, I don't really care.

I just like it.

First of all, and this is the most important thing, it really seems to bother the intended target.

I've had whole boards of bug-eyed auNecks protesting my use of the term and even had moderated votes on whether or not I should be allowed to use it. auNecks are very sensitive of their image.

It is a contraction of the word redneck and auburn. You would pronounce it in the same fashion as you would autastic, ausome, aunificicent, etc... all words frequently used by your typical auNeck.

I invented it years ago; I don't really remember exactly how long ago. Maybe 7 or 8 years, give or take.

As far as I know, no other posters on any board use it except for me.

I think Tom was the only one that brought it up, but I think that was out of curiosity. The rest of us don't care, and actually welcome it, as it lets everyone know to place you in the Updyke category.

Telling a poster that his op is dumb and insecure doesnt mean your jimmies were rustled. Its called reality.

Im dead serious. No program has ever played in a NCAA National Title game. All bowl games are exhibitions. Our programs play NCAA football and none of them have ever won a NCAA national title. The NCAA will never award a national title when the national title participants are VOTED IN. Coaches and players have no control over making the playoffs.the only legit titles in cfb is conference titles. No amount of voting or bias can get you into the seccg.
