This thing should never have gotten past the A&M game last season. I know that there was a feeling of inevitability with most sane LSU fans (much like Georgia fans with Richt the last 2 years). It's a fresh start, and I know it's a relief to most. Probably didn't go down the way most expected or wanted it to, but that's life.

Les gave you a good decade, but he was clearly given multiple years to get with the times and he just wouldn't/couldn't do it. It sucks, because he is a fun dude and a good man, but it was time to move on.

We'll always have the good times and the NC win.

It's a business though and it was time for Miles to go.

This is either going to be great or really bad, but either way should be one hell of a ride.

Yep. Good move. They got tired of that yankee jackass stealing their money and then playing dumb.

Les did get away with it for about 4 years and 20 million dollars, though, so . . .

It was the right move, but it should have happened a while ago. Don't like firing a coach in September.

I think the writing was on the wall. If it didn't happen now, it most likely would've later in the season. It just wasn't working anymore.

Yep. He's a good dude, sucks to split ways, but even deep down he knows it was time.

Yeah it should definitely have happened last year. Recruiting is going to be a mess for the next few months.

Great post. The SEC was better for having Les in it.

Im gonna miss the frick out of him as a personality. Losing Spurrier and Miles has basically erased all remaining personalities from the league.

Word is #LSU made the move now bc there was a feeling Les Miles might temporarily save his job again & program would keep going in circles.

It feels good. I'm not worrying about the next coach as I just want to enjoy this small window of hope and belief.
