Serious question for LSU fans (about linebackers)

So I've brought this up before and was told it wasn't an issue but I wanted a second opinion. What's with Les not picking up linebackers?
Dating back to the 2013 class here's how many linebackers LSU has signed:
2015: Zero 4 or 5 star linebackers, 0 linebackers altogether
2014: One 5 star linebacker (transferred), 1 3 star
2013: One 4 star linebacker (Beckwith), One 4 star LB/FB (Melvin Jones) not on the team, One 3 star (starter Duke Riley).
So that leaves one four star linebacker from the past three recruiting cycles, and two three stars.
So my question is, why in the world is LSU going through D coordinators like a pair of dirty underwear, when the issue with the defense lies at the heart. Les hasn't been going after linebackers or hasn't been landing them at a high enough rate to make the team competitive. I also realize that currently LSU has two four star linebacker commits for 2016, but the depth is atrocious at that position for LSU, especially after Lamar Louis is gone and IF Beckwith leaves for the NFL.

Chavis, a&m fans should be able to confirm this if they look at their class.
they have 1 three star linebacker currently committed.

Linebackers were Chavis job. Chavis didn't recruit. There has been a press for linebackers since Chavis left. The best linebackers at LSU under Chavis were all out of Georgia and recruited by Peveto. He found Kelvin Shepherd and Perry Riley when no one else offered. Kevin Minter also committed to Peveto.

We got 3 so far this year and could still get 2 more

That's interesting. I guess I falsely assumed Les was in charge of what recruits to go after, but you're all saying Chavis just doesn't recruit linebackers?

Chavis happened. Then Steele got in the game too late and wasn't able to make headway with any.

Sweet, sweet Mother of John Chavis. The re-gift that keeps giving.

It's both. Miles is ultimately responsible, but Chavis and Haley were the main reasons our LB situation is a fiasco right now.

I count two. But yeah I know this year is a turnaround from the previous three, that's why I was wondering what the hell happened.

And if you want to say it's Les fault then it's Saban for not finding a kicker for Bama. It comes down to the position coach and his ability to recruit.

We have ourselves a fine kicker

It is partially Saban's fault we couldn't find a kicker there for a bit. Griffith is serviceable for one more year, but if we don't land someone in the next cycle we could be up a creek.
But yeah most Bama fans will blame Bobby Williams for anything special teams related so I see your point.

There may be other problems. The DL has exactly four, maybe only three upperclassmen on scholy, and none of these qualify as "elite," none would get playing time at Alabama or Ole Miss, maybe not at Arky. There are a number of DEs with possibility on the roster, but most seem pretty lightweight, fast but light. Compare that to nine FBs on LSU scholy and the imbalance in recruiting stands out.
There are a couple of perhaps quality DL recruits committed for 2016, but not many and they will be true freshmen next year. Given that one defensive problem for LSU has been stopping bigger power teams, it will be a question for the new DC. Perhaps some of the DEs can put on weight and muscle.
By the way.. many people down here do not believe what I've posted is true... they think there is "all that talent" just waiting to be dominant on defense. These well-meaning fans have never looked at the roster apparently.

the players that we do have at the starting positions are very talented. it's the backups and the depth at the DT and LB positions that is the issue.
