A&M hired a crappy coach

This crappy coach is the second winningest coach at aTm of the last 75 years. Better record than Jackie Sherrill. Better record than Gene Stallings. Better record than Emory Bellard. And, oh yeah, also that Bryant guy.

Does that mean he's as good as all those guys? Hell no. His conference record is very mediocre, and mediocre doesn't cut it when fans want championships.

Sumlin has a really good win percentage actually. He will land another gig when A&M gets rid of him.

I think it has more to do with the ADs making bad hires and being cheap. I think they need to get coaches who are more hands on with there side of the ball. Jones and Mac don't seem to be hands on coaches . We need guys like Bobby petrino who will not sit back and watch his offense suck. It will be interesting to see the coaching changes in the next 3 years. You have 2 top 10 college coaches with out jobs right now . Will sec teams spend the money to hire them .

Don't forget losing James Franklin to Pedo St. That guy can recruit and coach.

I would absolutely think a quality coach would look at his competition, especially in the west, and think about taking a job with Saban next door.

With that said, not sure that applies going forward, he's not going to coach for that much longer.

Stoops has taken us out of the cellar to being able to compete again. Sure he fricked up last night with the open passers (he tried to call a TO before 2nd one but refs wouldn't allow it), but we are miles ahead of where we were. Joker had murdered the program. Stoops has resurrected it. And even if we fired him, who would we get? Your options would be rat feces and Ebola as HC

I'm kinda thinking programs are just biding time until Saban finally retires. I mean, who ever thought Orgeron could compete with Saban? Muschamp? McElwein? Lol
