Is it possible the SEC might be just pedestrian enough, and Texas A&M just good enough, to save Sumlin’s job?

It’s not as crazy as it sounds.

The Aggies’ path to nine or 10 wins — which would surely save Sumlin’s job — doesn’t look particularly daunting. Even assuming they don’t beat Alabama on Oct. 7, they get Auburn and Mississippi State at home. If Tennessee can play Florida to the wire in the Swamp, you have to think Texas A&M can as well on Oct. 14. South Carolina, New Mexico and Ole Miss are games Sumlin needed to (and should) win under any circumstances.

If Sumlin is still employed on Nov. 25 when the Aggies finish the regular season at LSU, who knows what might be at stake.

"The Aggies" haven't forgotten anything.
We didn't write that article.

There is no chance Arkansas buys out Bert.

Think Butch has a chance with the SEC being down. God I hope so. Think Auburn still owes a hefty payout to Gus if their AD does anything. Auburn been paying coaches for a while

If I listed by who I think gets fired

Odom is good as gone. No reason to keep him. Would make zero sense.

Butch is second to me. The noise is hot, more importantly, ticket sales are wayyyyy down. That speaks more than anything. Barring a sudden influx of wins, he will be gone...

Sumlin. He has the noise, but his saving grace is he may win enough to save his job.

Gus - Just seems the department as a whole is in chaos. New Ad may decide to pull the plug if it happens.

Bert - That buyout is way too high. Simple as that.

Ed O and Mac get another year. No question for me there.

You act like UF is good or something. We outplayed them all game which isn't saying much. They nailed us on a final play - again. Truth is we should've put them to bed early and had plenty of chances and fricked it up.

Bret Bielema isn't going to be fired this year, I'm afraid. He's gonna win enough to keep his job.

I've come to the conclusion that he and Jeff Long sat down and watched Money Ball during his interview. Bielema is playing analytical football to the point that it is detrimental to his team. He cannot settle on a fricking offensive line rotation until the season is half over. He refuses to force touchbacks on kickoffs because it will work to his benefit over the long haul in regards to opponents average starting field position even though it just cost him a game yesterday.

Anyways, point is, by the end of the season he is going to have a very good team on his hands and we will do this all over again next season.

Jeff Long needs shown the door before Bielema does. Then Bielema right after.

Tennessee never led in the game

You narrowly outgained us and we couldn't stop Kelly in the 4th but it's definitely a stretch to say UT outplayed UF

If you take out the Hail Mary, VOLS were outgaining Gators 442-317, UT were definitely the better team on the field for what little it's worth.

Thankfully for Gators, your coach isn't quite as dumb as Lyle and his crew
