Arkansas finished #2 in both polls for the 1964 season. At that point in history, bowl games were exhibitions. The fact that Arkansas won their bowl and Alabama lost theirs did not matter as neither major poll considered bowl results in their determination of who the champion for that year was.

The AP changed their procedure the following season to account for bowl results. #2 Arkansas had a chance to win their first National Title if they could win the Cotton Bowl against LSU as #1 Michigan State lost the Rose Bowl against UCLA.

They failed, losing 14-7 to big bro, and to this day Arkansas still has not won a national title in football.

Which allowed Alabama to repeat in 1965.

Funny how this one week this logic applies and the other 51 weeks of the year everyone wants to think the opposite.

Wrong. Everyone knew the rules at the beginning of the season.

And neither has Ole Miss. But for some reason, their claims aren't scrutinized.
I guess if you only have one or two weak claims, people look the other way so that you can get a participation trophy.

That is changing your tune.....we were told by the Rant that Bama doesn't really have 15 titles.

both national perception and facts are on my side.

What Jerry Jones and the people who live in Arkansas say about it doesn't matter.
